Have to disagree re Milner. While he is not an explosive player, he will work harder than any other player on the pitch both defending and attacking.

Nasri played well against Everton but the previous few games he was back to dithering around and slowing up a quick attack situation. Plus pas, Nasri. Vite, vite!

Milner's better as an explosive sub. Let Nasri destroy Villa's concrete defence for 50 minutes.

-- Tue May 06, 2014 6:53 pm --

By the way: total respect to all those blues who got to be there at Selhurst and Goodison.

That's my team to start, does anyone know if Navas is near fitness? He'd be good to bring on after Villa tire.
Catching up on the day's news now. Pellegrini said the only injury is Aguero

But that's not quite the same as saying Navas is available to play

I suspect Navas maybe on the bench

----------------------Hart
Zab-----Kompany--Demichelis--Clichy
------------Fernandinho-Yaya
--------------Milner------Nasri
-------------Negredo--Dzeko

I think Silva maybe used as a 2nd half sub as we have WHU at home and we might need him for that game

Subs: Pants, Silva, Navas, Kolarov, Jovetic, Lescott, Garcia

Why does everyone want to play milner its a game we need to win we need to play our most creative players milner was awful against sunderland at home he's more suited to away games.

Couldn't agree more

Couldn't agree enough. He was utterly DREADFUL against Sunderland and shouldn't be anywhere near the starting line up imho.

I can't believe Aguero is out a fucking gain. FFS.

But he's very good when we play on the road and IMO he should always start on the road. Last 2 games at home so the bench for Milner for me. Away from home we need a player who defends, at home not as much because most teams park the bus away from home as opposed to at home where they feel they have to attack more. IMO this is why he looks so good away from home but poor at home. At home the things he does isn't really needed. We need more attacking flair at home to break teams down.

If Milner plays we are going to be really up against it, yes seems a nice bloke and all that, but he is just so poor. He has broke up more city attacks than any opposition player, appreciate we may not have many options.

Worst post I'be ever read in 5 years on BM.

Clearly you never pay attention to my posts ya bastard.

Villa do fall into the catergory of clubs who up there game against us in spite of the fact they are remarkably inconsistant, or perhaps thats just my nerves talking. I'd wanna see two strikers up front even if Aguero is out, Villa don't have a particulary good defense and hopefully Dzeko + Jovetic/Negredo can capitalise on that.

Btw: respect to Villa fans. They've been through it like we have. A decent club, badly run at the corporate level. That said, I hope they get destroyed tomorrow.

Aston Villa will attack Manchester City, vows Lambert

A win for the table-toppers on Wednesday will effectively hand the Premier League title to Manuel Pellegrini's side, but the Villans boss insists he will not set up to defend
