Looking at the provisional squad just then and there's a lot of defenders! Wouldn't surprise me to see Demichelis and Kolarov come into the midfield at some stage of the match.

Main concern for me is Fernandinho, I know he is desperate to make the World Cup Squad but he can't physically play every game.

He played 64 mins against Blackburn on the 4th and has only played one full game since then. He was rested against west ham completely and I expect he'll be rested for the 2nd leg too, I wouldn't worry.

I really hate this game. Play the shittest team we can get away with. If we get knocked out, but are then able to remain fresher for the difficult title run-in, the league cup final and Barca games, then that's not the end of the world.

We need to get through against Blackburn. It's fairly likely we'll get knocked out of the CL by Barca. Having three domestic competitions will be good for the squad.

Really do need to bring someone in to help us shuffle players though. If we could get a CM in allowing either Yaya or Fern to play further up from time to time this would help hugely.

Precisely.

He has not played in the international breaks too, so he has had 2 separate 2 week breaks.

He also was subbed v Blackburn which was a very low tempo game anyway. Didn't play against West Ham.

It's not a lot to ask for him to play tomorrow and Saturday given that the next game is not for another full week (if west ham is tossed off).

Even then, resting likely as Spurs A and Chelsea H to come within following 6 days.

Spot on. He's got great fitness anyway, he never looks tired to me.

I think the worriers (myself included in that group), think that he'll look plenty fit until he doesn't, at which point he'll either get injured or pretty much fall asleep stood up through exhaustion. I imagine he's playing through just about anything at the moment purely to get into the WC squad.

Que?!
Well we have no Nasri and Milner is suspended for the first leg, so our squad will be stretched... and that's assuming we don't pick up more injuries between then and now! We'll really miss Nasri's ability to retain possession against Barca. It's now highly likely that we'll have to play Garcia and push Yaya forward, but Garcia will not cope with their pressing and movement. With Nasri i was confident, but without him it means playing someone who lacks technique. We can't afford to have too many of those players on the pitch v Barca. They'll expose it.
