on form then neither navas or milner would get anywhere near the starting line up for me (if it wasnt for injuries)

They both played ok vs Chelski but other than that both have been terrible (especially navas) in the last few weeks......and as for dzeko, he may well be coming back from an injury but he just doesnt seem interested at all!

---------------Hart

sanga kompany mangala clichy

--------fernando--------- ferna

nasri----- silva---------- jovetic

----------------aguero

if nasri isnt fit to start id start milner

However Ive got a sneaky feeling tat MP will start Lampard which i think is a mistake and that he will also start milner and navas who to my mind have been woeful recently in terms of what they bring to the team attacking wise.

I must be watching a different navas. Thought he had a cracking game at Chelsea.

he was better than recent performances but he was still wasteful on a number of occasions...Im not knocking his effort at all as he gives 100% every game BUT he creates very little in most games campared to the chances and the postions he gets into and what he should do on those occasions....his decision making is the problem....he waits a fraction of a second all too often (notice the chance he created which led to the the goal was from one of the very few occasions he got the timing right

I think all Navas needs is a clear target in the box. Hopefully with bony in there he can take advantage of Navas' crosses rather than them being wasted time and time again

Yep he's great at everything except the final few yards in front of post. Bony and Navas will be a great combination.

That's what I'm hoping too. We will see - bring it on!

im hoping that too but you are not telling me that agueros movement in the box isnt world class or certainly good enough for Navas to pick out.....? Its not all about having the height/physical presence to latch onto crosses.....far too often he hits the front man not because of the height of his cross but because of the timing...he delays too long and allows the defender to get too close and therefore the opportunity is gone.

there was also a situation vs chelski where ferd robbed the ball off someone about 35 yds out and gave it to navas and then continued his rin on the outside of navas who then returned the ball to him and he shot......the better option was silva unmarked towards the back of the box who went mad at navas for not noting him

If we play the two Ferns tomorrow then we should be able to play a very attacking front 4. Not sure if Nasri will start but if he's fit it should be Silva, Nasri, Dzeko and Aguero.

MP will rotate at Stoke. Change the full backs, possibly a CB if they're all fit. And he might bring in Milner and Lampard.

Hart, Sagna, Kompany, Mangala, Kolarov, Fernandinho, Fernando, Silva, Nasri, Jovetic, Aguero.

for me.

then Zabba, Clichy, Dzeko, Milner in for Stoke.

Pellegrini just confirmed no injuries for tomorrow. Nasri & Mangala are back, as expected. Great news.

Good stuff although it seems we play our best football or get the required results when our backs are too the wall.

Hopefully 5 points behind Chelsea qualifies as such.

Yes, he's not perfect

Must win game. If I was picking the team I'd bring Lampard in to play just behind Kun, leave Fernando out altogether, push Fernandinho up into centre mid & have no defensive midfielders, in, at all.

Not gonna happen though, my guess is, other than Zabba, the same side starts as at Chelsea last week

Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Demichelis, Clichy, Navas, Fernando, Fernandinho, Milner, Silva, Aguero

Time to make our mark, starting with this game. Struggle here and its over.

Agree - I'm normally ultra positive about our chances nowadays, however my confidence in our chances has certainly wavered over the last month, something not quite right with the squad mentality, injuries aside it took the embarrassment of the Boro result to wake some of the team up at Chelsea, and even though they were there for the taking we still didn't finish them off, story of our season - sounds ridiculous but anything less than a convincing win tomorrow will be a pointer for further dissappointment as we settle to secure 2nd place.

Should definitely start with a fluid forward line, I'd go

Hart
Zab Clichy Kompany Demichelis
Milner Navas Fernandinho Silva Nasri (if fit) or Jovetic though I suspect Pelligrini has now like many of us given up on him coming good
Aguero

this is the important thing. we must take that display forward now and play that way from here on in.
