I couldn't believe that Rodgers started with 4-3-3 and, unsurprisingly, they were overrun in midfield until HT. The WH goal was dubious TBH. The first Liverpool pen was not. However, the opposition needs to push up the back line otherwise balls get endlessly pinged to Suarez in the those situations.
I wasn't sure about the second pen but the ref was clearly under enormous pressure. But it must be remembered that WH, save for Carroll, were pretty insipid and yet the mickeys only just scraped through.
Now they have a few injuries and the likes of Sturridge and Sterling are beginning to look a little leggy. The 8 days off we will have had off is a big bonus for us.
However, I simply do not believe that next week's game is the decider, either for us or Chelsea. Jose isn't finished yet. Hence, the scousers are celebrating way too early. It's embarrassing for them, in fact. Maybe they will win it, but not until May. And next season the CL will drag them right back down. I also doubt that Suarez will be there after the summer as surely Spain awaits.
It seems like time for Pelligirini to start banging on about how many pens Liverpoool get and so on. What we want on Sunday is for the ref to basically give few decisions as, without the officials playing in red, we must surely win.
So calm down, we are doing fine, whatever happens next week. CTID
