Was hoping to see a couple of the new boys today, but will have to wait. Those on here moaning need to realise its the early stages of our pre-season, and therefore take this game with a pinch of salt.

The thing is 'PSOB' , this game was as much about putting the City name/brand into the African (and world) spotlight , as much as it had to do with actual fitness , and we were piss-poor ...... it did absolutely nothing for us whatsoever because at least half the players who were out there 'gaining fitness' will hardly feature at all for us next season , and some of them are hardly fit to play for a pub side , never mind a Premiership one!

If we wanted to put in a perfomance such as this we should have gone up to Scotland and played Arbroath ....... at least then the world might not have noticed the result!

I doubt if we'll be much further on by the time the final friendly is played because Hughes will chop and change ...... i don't really know which was worse today ...... the stream or the team!

I can see where you're coming from, and agree, as a way of marketing the 'city' brand in S.Africa it may have been better to field a few of the 'bigger boys' in this game rather than saving them for the latter games, thus ensuring a win today. But i think one good performance from a full strength team can still achieve this goal. With my OP I was only pointing out to those who are slating the team that we are very early into the pre-season, and by the end of it all, we will be at a completely different level to that what we saw today.

no matter how small the game was if cook wants to get rid of the typical city reference the effort needs to start with the players no matter who plays, all we seem to do is make excuses for them there are many eyes all looking in our direction now, don't blame hughes one bit but if he suspects a lack of effort from anyone he has to make sure they never pull on a shirt again still think were going to have a great season with the players we are getting and love the work cook is doing behind the scenes but if he wants the mentality to change the players (no matter who) need to put there all into each game no matter how big or small the game is, it took the gloss off the kit launch 3000 is a good number and i bet they made a shitload of cash we need a response for the next game or the mentality will remain, certain today was a weeding out exercise for hughes though well i hope so. CITY TILL I DIE (sorry garry) :)

How did we do today? Been to watch Bruno so missed the result

You missed nothing 'PG' ....... you did yourself a favour missing it , we lost 0-2!

Uninspiring is probably what were ... some would argue that we had a much weakened side out there and that would be true , but only some of the playing personnel altered ...... all the usual City failings were clearly there for all to see ....... mis-placed passing , disjointed , aimless shooting , no cohesion .... all the usual stuff that we normally display on our travels!

Bojinov was really unlucky on a couple of occasions , but generally we were poor ...... never , ever , looked like winning.

Apologies if this has been posted.

Must be thinking of Florida

Meh... not really too bothered. We're a work in progress.

The upside is, did you see the rags this morning? OMG, how pathetic were they? Couldn't even put a Malasyan XI to bed. They're going to struggle to fourth this season.:D:D:D:D
