Manchester City Women (merged)

I think the two games in one day experiment is quite innovative, but at the same time it's mentally tiring and gets you to the ground far too early.
City have obviously done their Market Research because in theory you might have a dangerous logistical nightmare with 45,000 all turning up at the Mini Etihad for the Schalke game on Tuesday.
In reality most fans will only be interested in watching the Barcelona game.

I suspect the MCWFC crowds will gradually increase over a period of time, but as somebody has already suggested their success, on and off the pitch, should be compared with other ladies teams.

Must admit after the hail shower around 82 mins we legged it to the pub.

Spot on.

I would have gone to the Ladies game, but it would have left too much time to kill. Not a problem if I was on the ale, but I was driving straight from work.
The weather makes a difference as well. I enjoyed the Schalke game the other week, but by the time of the Arsenal game the frostbite was beginning to take a hold.

Summer football might be the way forward for MCWFC.

Went to the girls game too - was bl**dy freezing but appropriate visits to Mary D's both before and after this game dulled the effect of the cold. And I thought the gap between the games was just right as it allow me a visit to Tony's Chippy for Sausage, Chips and Onion Gravy and the usual couple of pints upstairs in Mary D's with the additional bonus of seeing the Rags lose their only European Away game this season!

And MCWFC's season IS a summer based one ...

@BBCSport: Lucy Bronze has joined Manchester City ladies from @FAWSL champions Liverpool <a class="postlink" href="http://t.co/LUzJO35O9n" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://t.co/LUzJO35O9n</a> <a class="postlink" href="http://t.co/N3VyQjjDOd" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://t.co/N3VyQjjDOd</a>

Liverpool fan response

@Matt_Horner_: @BBCSport @FAWSL refreshing to see them buy the women's league as well, no sexism from City

Hahahahahaha

Fucking hell, they're priceless aren't they.

Of course Liverpoool spunking £100 million and Scum £150 million is just about trying to stay in the top half of the table is it!

Worth reminding Liverpool fans that what City are doing for MCWFC Liverpool in fact did 2 years ago and they have since gone on to win the Women's Super League (so who is buying the league ?)

It was freezing. And the Schalke game last night was worse. The CFA is a very cold stadium. Wind whips through the gaps between the stands. I was shivering halfway through the second half. It's definitely a situation for a pair of long johns.

MCWFC have drawn Doncaster Belles at home in the first round of the cup. As I understand it there may be a bit of ill-feeling as Doncaster think that we nicked "their" place in the premier league.

Could be a bit tasty?

Come on girls, the final's at Wembley on 1 August. All being well we can get there two weekends on the trot :)

If their captain is called Helen, would they be Hel's Belles?

I'm here all week.
