Manchester controls the "politics" of football

And this interview is a good thing? Yet again refusing to accept any responsibility for his own actions by saying "people at Liverpool" think he was only banned because Utd control the politics of football and wanted to stop Liverpool - stop them from doing what I'm not too sure??!!

Nothing to do with his own racist behaviour then....He also says in this interview that it wasn't his fault he didn't shake Evra's hand and all the tv companies (apart from in Uruguay) stitched him up by showing the incident from an angle that makes it look like he's ignoring Evra.

So he also refuses to accept any responsibility for his actions making Dalglish look a twat!!

He's the perfect match for Liverpool (it wasn't us/it was the Chelsea fans/the world's against us) Football Club. Whatever you think about Utd, and their possible influence over the English football establishment, Suarez is a twat and got what he deserved in the Evra case..

suarez said united control the politics in england , in his interview , he directly mentioned manchester united , that is so unseen in modern football for a player to directly point a finger
Not defending him , but that requires a lot of guts there , and its so true
Nearly as much guts as saying sorry, I made a mistake and didn't mean to cause offence - let's shake hands and move on?

I really don't see trying to deflect attention from your own actions as courageous in any way.

well , it will amaze me if anyone thinks united didn't affect the suarez verdict ,

the handshake thing can be made out either way , no way i can tell what happened there , and

what i'm saying is suarez was solely banned for 8 matches as the offence was against united , terry wasn't banned , nither fined because there was not any united player involved , i can argue that terry is more a guilty fella than suarez (no video evidence) , and terry would have got banned if he abused rio ferdinand

Suarez deserved a ban but 8 matched ban not adds up otherwise

You can't claim conspiracy because Terry wasn't banned because they are two totally different circumstances, one has already been through the court process and the FA haven't made a decision on the punishment (if any) for Terry yet.

liverpool-united rivalry is not limited to on field issues and liverpool no more challenge for titles but there is too much hate there and if anyone thinks united have any political influece in FA , they made sure he got the severest punishment

(i am not saying he didn't abused evra)

Imagine if Roberto said this Queens Park Rangers did very well until they found out they were safe, and I think, as Mark Hughes has said, they quit,”

It's the standard punishment for that type of offence. 4 weeks for the abuse, double for the racist nature.

Evra is most definitely a twat but this ^^^^ is probably not true

You can debate all you want on whether or not Utd have undue influence on the game (what with Bernstein being such a big red n all) but Suarez' latest ramblings are just another attempt to absolve himself from any responsibility for his actions.

End of the day there was a lengthy investigation and hearing, inaccuracies were noted in his (Suarez) evidence and he was found guilty of racist behaviour. Even if that was unintentional he has not shown an iota of remorse.

His club and manager (misguidely IMHO) backed him in the matter and he then let them down again by reneging on his promise to try and move on by shaking hands (whether Evra's hand was held up, down or even in his pocket Suarez made no attempt whatsoever to shake hands).

I don't consider an 8 match ban excessive for repeated use of racist words and behaviour and I fully expect John Terry to be dealt with as firmly when the FA hear his case.

If they don't it could just as easily be construed as favouritism towards Terry or Chelsea as any indication of Utd's political sway (this is a guy who retained his place in the national team despite repeated unsavoury episodes in the past - culminating in the run up to a major international tournament being overshadowed by his imminent trial for the Ferdinand incident).

It would be very difficult for the FA to push a case against Terry now he's been found not guilty in a criminal case. By definition, the authorities failed to prove 'beyond reasonable doubt' that he was guilty.

For the FA to try and charge him with racism would now be extremely difficult and almost certain to fail even though they need less of a case than a criminal case.

Tbh, had Terry not been reported to the police, thereby triggering a prosecution, I think the FA would've come down very hard on him. Given the mood of the country at the time, and the pressure on the FA to be seen to be tackling racism in the game, I reckon that he would have faced a ban at least as long as that of Suarez, and for his England career to have ended.
