After reading David Lynch’s piece on City’s alleged missing fans in the club’s highest crowd of the season I thought it was appropriate to provide a factual consideration of the Blues’ current attendance figures.

See Mr Lynch, that's how to get a subtle dig in.

Another great counter piece which further shows up Mr Lynch's poor work.

I thnk the whole debacle has worked like a charm for them though. All this attention whoring and counter claiming has probably made them seem 'relevant' again.

Even by their standards, this is a staggeringly poor article:

The Chelsea game was sold out.

Those empty seats were presumably season ticket holders who couldn't make the game (probably kids given that it was an evening midweek game).
An article from someone with a bit too much free time on their hands. Judging by his photo, he looks like some nerd just out of Uni, waiting for the next job vacancy to Costa Coffee to arise.

I am not a happy bunny. I was one of those that didn't want this thread to reach 100 pages. Now that Gary James decides to write a well researched and accurate response and someone decides to post it up on here, this is bound to go past 100 pages. As I say not happy at all.

(Thanks Gary for redressing the balance but next time create a new thread)

I used to buy the MUEN every night until last season when they printed a disgusting article on Yaya...

I know it might not seem much but it's now nearly 12 months since i bought this rag paper and i have saved nearly £200 on not buying this horrible paper.

I urge every blue to boycott the MUEN...

I wonder if the evening news will comment on the huge swathes of empty seats at OT today? Was blindingly obvious just now on match of the day as Fulham equalised in fergie time....

Noticed quite a few empty seats in the North Stand during the 1st half.

Over to you Mr Lynch.

Get your blue circles on those red seats, and get it ONLINE and in PRINT.

That is stunning in it's ignorance. Really, I'm actually stunned that this is printed in a newspaper.

I see the idea of quality control has just disappeared from the MEN

They have to appease the red masses somehow, and with nothing noteworthy to write about Utd at the moment, they will print anything about us accordingly. They had better start trying to butter up City fans soon, we will be the people they rely on to buy their paper one day..........

so many empty seats at the swamp........

no doubt the impartial MUEN will report on this as it felt obliged to with City.......

As always Gary James does a magnificent job. We should be proud one of our own is such a talent.

Thanks to you and the others for the comments. I think it's important to stick to the facts as no one can argue with that. Newspapers have always had an agenda, but that original article was so pathetic that it needed responses and I'm glad so many Blues (and to be fair some non-Blues) took time and effort to correct the MEN. I enjoyed Ric's article and the comments from Bluemooners. We must always be vigilant - all we ask for is a level playing field. Treat all clubs the same and be truthful. Let the facts back up the right arguments.

As we are no longer clicking or buying this rag rag, has anyone seen it in the shops today? Does David Lynch's article about empty swathes at the swamp yesterday make good reading? - I'm sorry. what - he'd run out of crayons?

Isn't it free if you pick it up in town?
