First of all MODS, please dont delete or move. I know there is a similar topic if "off-topic" but many people do not read things on there, this is going to effect a lot of people going to the game today with severe delays expected.

There will be a massive fuel protest today with up to 15,000 bikers alone. I advise people who will be effected to leave in plenty of time and possibly change there route or you may be delayed in getting to the ground.

have you any idea what time they are setting off as i have to go a short distance round the M60

So When and Where ?

Start - Hartshead Moor Services (Westbound) Meeting from 7am Set off 9am @ 25MPH
to
Birch Services (Westbound) "23 Miles" (Meeting Convoy No. 2 Please Meet at Birch Services From 8am)
Leave Birch @ 10.45am as a single convoy !!

From Birch We Head Down The M62 - M60 - M602
Bikes will then head into the City Centre See Here All other vehicles will go down Trafford Rd and meet us at Salford Quays. We had to do this due to public safety !! Also we originally intended on getting to the town hall however there are two weddings on this saturday and we couldn't intrude it wouldn't be fair to the lucky couples ;-)

They are setting off from birch at 10.45 but going at 25mph max, and in 1 single line. The last biker will probably be leaving the services at around 11.15, then the long slow journey into manchester but going half way around the M60!!! All the other motorways will be held back until they have cleared so there will be major disruption from simmister island, all the way past M61, A580, M62, M602 as motorists on these route will have to wait until the bikers and other vehicles in the protest have gone.

why not close off the birch services with a police convoy and stop them?

why should they inconvenience thousands of other people when next thursday they can change the politics of our government anyway?

i think something needs to be done to be fair. I filled up the other day at 1.29p a liter, cost me over £80 to fill up a ford mondeo (ok it is an ST but shhhhh)

Fair enough, but why's inconveniencing other motorists causing them to drive slower and waste more fuel causing them to lose more money? doesn't make sense to me but anyway...

i'm not agreeing with the fuel protest, i'm saying that something needs to be done to stop the government fleecing us on vat on fuel
