Manchester traffic

Around 2017 I was working in Hulme. It would take sometimes around 1.5 hours to get from there to Middleton in rush hour. Can get to the fucking lakes in less than that.

It’s getting a joke.

I went to Blackpool for the fireworks the other Saturday evening (2/3 weeks ago), not too bad coming back then i get to the M60 - accident with all traffic stopped.

Last sunday evening, went to Birchwood for a meal with Family, all fine then got to the M60 - accident with all traffic stopped.

Every time i look on the MEN News there is always an update on an accident on M60/M62 with traffic delays

An executive decision has been made by myself that if visiting South Manchester/Trafford Centre etc….i only use the Metrolink.

Bollocks to sitting on motorways anymore

Three accidents this afternoon according to MEN.

no easy solution, but if working from home was given full government backing, many benefits to those who cannot, via less crowded roads, to the environment by reducing greenhouse gas, to bus and tram passengers having a less crowded and more reliable service All the parliamentarians who have financial interests in renting out office space in town centres have been doing their utmost to crush wfh, mainly financial interest but also a victorian mindset that all workers are idle shirkers and they dread unmonitored toilet breaks etc.

Makes you wonder why there are so many traffic jams and bottle necks when there is so much metal on the roads, who woulda thunk it ehh?
I wonder if the constant closing of city centre roads might have something to do with it. Couple that with an inner ring road having more choke points than the Boston Strangler and an outer ring road closed for hours after every minor bump.

It's getting harder and harder to just get into the area where you live, in reality it can only ever mean congestion and hold ups.
