Neither our manager or our players will be falling for any mind games, IMO United earmarked this game weeks ago, to save their season. United fans would forgive them for having a part in the title race, even handing it to Liverpool because that would at least make them relevant again and they have fuck all chance to boast about anything after this game.
They've been quieter in the press this time around, probably because it's never worked before and they may have the worry it could give us extra motivation. The truth is, it shouldn't matter what they do, to downplay the game or to big up their chances.
Whatever United show up, should not surprise our team one bit. If it ends up being a tough game, with United suddenly running their socks off, they'll rise to the challenge and show them you can't just show up when you feel like it and outwork a team that leads by example every time they go out on the pitch, near enough all season. That's what pretenders do, but City are the real deal and they will show the difference.
If we go 2-0 up before half time, we just need to add a 3rd in the second half and then they will go into damage limitation mode.
