It's either name Carson in the squad who is by all accounts an extremely valuable member of the squad in the dressing room which will help the starting 11 or name a kid who has even less chance than Carson of stepping on the pitch. No matter what his position, there's no scenario where a kid makes their debut today so it's even more pointless than a 3rd keeper.

It's not about that. We know any kid that isn't named Palmer won't come into the equation for minutes

The point of it is to give someone coming through a taste of the match day setup with the first team. Give them the experience for the professionalism, feeling, and atmosphere, something to keep working hard for - and what better game than a packed derby

Rags played a back 4 and tried to press Liverpool. They are playing a back 5 with 2 defensive midfielders and sitting back today to counter, as a consequence of the Liverpool scoreline. Totally different game, a game without all the space that Liverpool had.

Wish I could be confident. Barring a couple of players that is a very average Utd team with a manager to match. They won’t be winning the league this year.

But so often against them lately ( not so much in cups) we don’t really turn up and particularly their awful mid field out run us.

Not listening or watching any of the build up as it's totally pointless and winds me up. Probably the best team we can pick IF the real Kev turns up, otherwise he's a liability. Take our chances and not leave gaps for them to counter and we should be okay. Plenty here can call the rags shit and do but they have plenty of quality to hurt us......then there's Oliver.
