We'll that's the end of my idea to go to Manchester Uni. It's an absolute disgrace that it costs 9 grand per year, not including housing/food etc. Just the conservatives and the f*cking wank*ng lib dem spineless bastards keeping education for the super rich and immigrants.

Looks like I'm leeds or newcastle bound. Gonna have to watch city on the f*cking tele now :(

Leeds and Newcastle will charge £9000, I bet you. All of the Russell Group institutions will at least. I find it funny that the government were playing the £9000 fees as the 'exception to the rule'. How very naive.

I've got Leeds as my insurance (Liverpool as firm) for this year and am planning to keep up my season ticket. It's doable.

Is that from next year? I go Salford and i've paid £3225 each year (Im in my 2nd year) I hope it don't go upto £9000 but it probably will.

If you're already at uni you won't pay £9000 per year, your fees will only rise with inflation. Same goes for people like me who are starting this year.

If you want to go university and get the benefits that come with that, then surely you should pay?

We're really fortunate then, £9000 a year is horrible.

Indeed. Emerging after 3 years with a debt of £42,000 is unimaginable.

Why is 9 grand a year a problem, when you don't have to pay any of it until you have completed the course and when you will be in a higher paid job than you would be if you hadn't of gone to uni?

With all the grants, bursaries and loans available, living isn't a problem while at uni, and you can just get a part time job.

If I go to uni for personal gain, I expect to pay for it.

You won't pay it all off anyway unless you get a very, very good wage after graduating.
