It’s been an incredible decade following this club, even by its own crazy standards - and what preceded it has made it all the sweeter. I’m glad I’m young enough to (hopefully) enjoy watching a period of dominance, but I’m also glad I’m old enough to have experienced supporting the club for over 40 years and all that entailed. I think my son feels like he’s missed out when I talk about the 1998/9 season.

Ahhh 98/9, I was 17 and 18 back then.

The summers were hot, the women were easy and bendy, my penis worked without worry (even when I didn't want it to) and City completed the most famous late two goals of the decade (fuck that balmy night in Barcelona).

They were days I wouldn't swap for anything. I do feel for our young fans now, my three nephews have never known City being appalling and will never experience the unbridled joy of 93:20. I don't think any single moment of my life will ever surpass the euphoria of that goal.
