Manchesters blue areas?

There seems lots more City scarves and shirts all around Manchester than United ones at the moment. It may change again but there are a lot of blue converts among the school kids particularly.

There was an academic study around 15 years ago as to where most City and United season ticket holders lived, by postcode.

The postcode with the most City Season ticket holders was SK8 covering the Cheadle, Cheadle Hulme, Gatley and Heald Green area.

Strangely enough, SK8 also had the most United season ticket holders at the time.

There was a study more recent than that. It was called "football in the communities" or summat.

It still had SK8 top with 15%, but M33 was second.

My brother lives in Cheadle Hulme, he calls it 'my blue heaven'.

Cheers, didn't know about it. :-) This one I'm guessing: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.substance.coop/sites/default/files/Football%20and%20its%20Communities%20Final%20Report.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.substance.coop/sites/default ... Report.pdf</a>

How many people live in these so called "blue hotspots" though?

if there are more people living in Location A than Location B, then obviously there will be more Blues in Location A.

Before the invention by the Wright Brothers in 1903 I'd say it had significance but to be honest theres probably more Blues living in China & India right now than Cheadle Hulme.

Location Snobbery is rife amongst fellow blues, sad to say :(

We don't have many areas in actual Manchester in truth.
you are kidding aren't you? on match day in gorton there's doors opening everywhere with their colours on ready to go to the match... there may be a few rag doors open but it's only to go to the pub.
