I wish yesterday never happened, gutted beyond words but listening to BM after the game he said
"Always it happens to them, never to us", referring to the last minute goals.
An off the cuff remark which is true but is he not missing something huge by saying this?? & this to me is the difference between nearly sides & successful sides. The questions he should be asking to his team are:
1- Why did we switch off AGAIN in the last few minutes
2- Scholes had acres of space to head the ball, why was Ireland the nearest man?
3- We set up their goal by needlessly squandering possession.
4- Finally-Added time is for both sides, go for the win but ensure you don't loose.
it never happens to us for one simple reason.....fergie made positive subs....we didnt...they attacked far more than us, we didnt...if we dont attack we dont score.....how many real chances did we create from open play....bridge had one near the end and bellamy wasted a good chance on the break but other than that we were very poor as an attacking force.....utd had other chances and should have been ahead...rooney missed a sitter and giggs hit his weakly straight at given....there was also numerous times balls were almost threaded through to utd's forwawrds but either tehy were just cut out or were over hit.....we didnt even do that.
Im sorry but we got what we deserved from saturday from an attacking perspective...nothing....I feels sorry for the likes of Kompany and dejong who were fantastic and praise should be given to mancini for sorting this part of our game out but he got the balance horribly wrong again in this game
