Mancini and the key ingredient

Excellent post, was just about to write pretty much the same thing :-) .. Joking aside i think your theory is spot on and it will take time for us to develop how Mancini wants us to, IMO the returning fullbacks will have a positive impact and take us that bit further.

I also think our real strength based on what I think is the deepest squad will be in december and jan when resting players will be worth points and mentality and squad depth will count for a lot. This is when the strongest squads ie usually chelsea and the rags make their move! If we can be solid and top 4 till then we will do well. We can get flamboyant in feb

I was saying this to my brother yesterday - it is about this time when certain teams will be thinking "we won't beat them, let's save it for next week". We need to build the mentality to the point where we go on the pitch expecting to win and we now have the players in the squad.

Any statsmen about because I am wondering what is a record unbeaten run in the Premier League or top flight is because that what we should surley aiming for us to become sucessful.

Cheers for that. Do you now what is our record in the top flight?

The funny thing with those saying we play with 10 defenders and are too defensive is look at the following stats:

End of last season.
Man Utd 1 Chelsea 2

MAN UTD CHELSEA
Possession
Man Utd 56%Chelsea 44%
Attempts on target
Man Utd 3 Chelsea 5
Attempts off target
Man Utd 6 Chelsea 6
Corners
Man Utd 3 Chelsea 3

Compared with:
Man City 1 Chelsea 0

Possession
Man City 43% Chelsea 57%
Attempts on target
Man City 6 Chelsea 4
Attempts off target
Man City 2 Chelsea 11
Corners
Man City 3 Chelsea 4

Okay we conceded more of the possession but had more attempts on target and as many corners. Not alot of difference is there between City and Utd stats v Chelsea

Don't know that mate, sorry.

No probs. Sounds cliched but we should put those type of runs if we are to be sucessful.
