Mancini 'arrogant and vain'

I'm not too bothered about Abu Dhabi. I think in general whats good for the club is good for AD and vice versa. And in general I have been hugely impressed by the AD side of the club.

But I'm never going to accept our club taking second place to the owners and I would hope none of us do. Not sure this has happened here, as I don't think AD's reputation has been enhanced by the club doing what it's doing.
I largely agree with you but I think the club has taken second place as people on here are complaining about the club lacking class by releasing stories that paint Mancini in a bad light. But that's been done to repair any damage the Sheikh/Abu Dhabi may have suffered, otherwise there would have been no need to do it and the club could have said what it said about the coaching team - Goodbye, thank you and good luck.

We are in good hands, extremely good hands, and when things go well we will be the story. But we must accept that when things go badly, we're the problem.

As the Sheikh is paying the piper then the only thing that matters is that the interests of Abu Dhabi. These do coincide with the interests of Manchester City fans as the long term success of Manchester City is the goal of our owner and chairman - which is surely our goal? They made the decision based on their criteria for long term success being fulfilled by the two amigos rather than by Mancini. They were probably Heartily sick of the bickering between the two amigos and Mancini - indeed Khaldoon has probably felt like a punch-bag since November. It is now up to the two amigos to deliver.

This doesn't relieve the two amigos of guilt for us losing the FA cup final. As far as I am concerned they carry the most guilt as they did NOTHING in public to back him. Nor did they do ANYTHING to scotch the Barcelona planted rumours about Pellegrini. Regardless of whether you are going to dismiss a manager - you back them to the hilt till the decision is made and the moment the decision is made to dismiss you do it immediately. Quite simply, the leak from Barcelona in the Spanish press that resulted in the swing of bookies odds on Thursday evening can only have had devastating impact on the moral of the players, manager & coaching staff.

As to the character assassination of Mancini post dismissal, by all on sundry including some on here - All I can say is: "Is that It?" Believe me - compared with Baconface, Mancini is a cuddly Teddy Bear if these stories are the limit of Mancini's 'problems'. Winners demand the highest standards from others and Mancini - like Baconface - IS a winner.

Not going to go on about, but the rescue of the AD reputation by briefing the press against Mancini is seen in a more negative light (by me at least) than their actions sacking RM in the first place.

And I suspect slagging RM through the press will have very little effect salvaging their reputation in the wider football world. Those that thought the Sheikh was just another crazy, greedy foreign owner will still think that regardless of the stories. The only thing that will change that will come hopefully soon when we start playing well and winning things again.
