On a serious note, i've always considered "stability" as meaning keeping the same manager, and having witnessed the damage it does constantly changing him, along with coaches scouts medical staff etc. it breaks up any chance of progress, so stability is/was essential.
There is an alternative, you build the infrastructure to be as good as the best, scouting, youth set-up etc, the ground, back-office, sponsors, the whole shebang. Instead of a "manager" you have a head coach whose remit is tactics and on field matters. This way if it doesnt work out the damage is minimalized, because the system is the stability, with each part run by experts in their own right
The size and complexity of a top club is too great for one man to run, imo, and it seems we will only get bigger,,,,,, just a thought
