MANCINI CALL TO ARMS

crisis? - what crisis?

the media frenzy will continue now for ever, whether we sweep the board or win nothing.

these players have to respond with their performances on the pitch, and we in the stands...

Mancini must be wondering whats hit him with the almost nationwide hate against the club.
I supported the club for 50 years and have always stood by them. This club has a great history of support.
Lets show Roberto what we are about. The next games lets get right behind the club and give some positive noise. Even chanting Mancini's name and showing him we are right behind the team and management.
I've got to the stage where I don't listen to the media anymore, they all seem to have an agenda against the club. Lets show them all we're right behind the club and the media and jealous pundits can go to hell!

Time to stand our ground and fight.

City fans have a part to play, and for too long, because we feel we deserve it, due to decades of debacles, believe we now only need sit back and await it.

Wrong, the hard work starts now. You earn the right. Sheikh Mansour has given us the tools, now, along with the players, we must finish the job.

That starts by getting behind the manager and repelling all invaders.

Surely to shit as long as everyone on match days is behind the manager, we can discuss our concerns on a forum?

Or are you suggesting that we should also be censoring ourselves and each other on Bluemoon?

Personally I think that will have zero impact upon how the team performs. It's also a little churlish to be asking us to get behind someone who many many Blues now have serious concerns over.

Lets not forget that Mancini maybe needs to start by helping himself and finding a way for us to go to places like WBA, Wolves, Sunderland, etc. and getting a win, not just a 'result'...

There's way too many question marks for me to join the Mancini cheer squad. Apologies if that offends anyone...

Mate, I'm going nowhere - nor am I going to be bullied into changing my opinion.

what is your opinion on last night mate? haven't seen you post since yesterday's game.

In a nutshell, this is what I posted in another thread:

The bigger concern for me is neither the result, nor the manner of the defeat (we were very unlucky to concede the goals we did). What concerns me is just how poor the performance was. Poznan, for large parts of that match, passed their way around us. They seemed better coached, better drilled, and more hungry. Coming hot on the heels of Wolves, that's a very very big worry.

I think Mancini got his team selection all wrong, then got his subs all wrong, and ended up getting the wrong result as well.

Billy, there are concerns, then there is negativity which does not stop and then start again the minute the final whistle blows.

It permeates through an entire week, racheting up pressure ahead of a match. Exactly which has been apllied by some sections of the media.

The sad thing for me, a significant proportion of City fans merely fan the flames, detrimental to everything they may perceive of their support during 90 minutes.

It's not even about being a Mancini cheerleader. I have reservations, but not enough time or evidence has elapsed to sound the death knell.

And with the greatest respect in the world, some of your writings of late seem to relate directly with the treatment of Stevie Ireland?

A decision to sell, which I happened to disagree with.

All the same, I don't want some protracted argument over it, my opinion remains steadfast.

He was on to a loser from day one, in terms of the appointment dividing opinion.

A truer barometer for me will be up to January, and how close the midweek comparison to United will be.

FOR WHAT IT’S WORTH.

For what its worth I have thought long and hard about just why we are attracting such a negative press...predominantly from the Murdoch empire.... and have come to the conclusion that there can only be one real reason for their concern that the cozy sky 4 cartel could be split up.
For years sky have been able to control these clubs and have had them do their bidding in terms of controlling the whereabouts of TV rights etc The premier league was set up on the back of a threat from these clubs to join a European super league and Sky has flourished as a result of this relationship. The problem for us is that our owners are rich enough to genuinely be able to dictate to Sky and ANYONE else exactly what terms they expect to do business and will not be dependant on the sky deal for their income and that is what really scares the Murdoch Empire.

It really is very simple.....The Mr. Big behind all this is a Premier League manager who, shall we say ,doesn’t manage too far away.....wants unrest at the club due to an up coming fixture....makes a phone call to a trusted hack........!!!!! You don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to work this one out....!!!

Just remember that Ferguson will not speak to the BBC, he will only allow certain reporters into his news conferences, two were handpicked for the UNICEF afternoon, during his Rooney conference Piers Morgan reported how he launched into a tirade against one reporter which was never televised. Since United's 'poor start' they have now had two massively fortunate refereeing decisions, Hernandez is a new god (despite scoring in only one of the first 10 premiership games) and the rag top papers are now reporting City unrest.

A large part of the media is desperate for City to fail and they are doing everything they can to undermine confidence at the club and upset the supporters with the Man u loving Daily Mail and the Sun being the principle culprits.

Let’s get things into perspective. We have suffered 3 defeats. One against Arsenal where we were unfortunate to have Boyata dismissed after 4 minutes (would Clattenberk have been so eager to brandish a red card had it been Ferdinand or Vidic at Owed Trafford I wonder?), 1 at Sunderland (extra time pen) and, another at Wolves, the sort of defeat that any top club can suffer from time to time.

This is just what the anti City media have been praying for and their reaction was sadly predictable.

Just for the record here are some of the stories from the last 4 to 6 weeks concerning City players:-

1) Yaya Toure wants to return to Barcelona.
2) Balotelli wants to play for Napoli.
3) Adam Johnson is fed up because he's spending too much time on the bench.
4) Carlos Tevez is fed up with City and is not enjoying his football. He'll probably retire any time now.
5) City players are out partying. (Don't players from other clubs go out for a drink occasionally I ask?)
6) David Silva has not settled in and may join Barcelona in January according to the Daily Mail.
7) Nigel de Jong is a thug and should be kicked out of football.

Now consider all of these stories and ask yourself whether they're all true or whether it's simply scurrilous reporting. I know what I think. The media are a disgrace and are clearly hell bent on upsetting our apple cart.

I'd take any story about unrest at City with a large pinch of salt.

How many times do we have to read the same garbage? Every article ends up with the same content about bust-up etc. etc. There is only one problem at this club and its how do the players deal with being the most hated team in the country? They are under a tremendous amount of pressure that is not the positive type; it's very hard to deal with. When you want something very badly and everyone is against you the pressure builds and becomes negative energy. I wouldn’t want Mancinis job for all the tea in china or all the money in Abu Dhabi.
The money they earn does not make them emotionless or able to deal with constant criticism from everywhere, After reading all the comments from the last couple of days it seems the team or the manager cannot even rely on their own fans for support but count me out, I'm still an optimist no matter how the rest choose to behave. I will not let the media, the rags or the pundits control my mind.
I have never seen a club with so much hatred and criticism aimed at it and I find it very disappointing that the fans are jumping on the bandwagon too.

Come on fellow City supporters if anyone is entitled to have a say it is us, but not to provide the media with ammunition. Get behind the team and don't let these people win.

CITY TILL I DIE
