Mancini: Carlos has told me he wants to stay

Yesterday, teletext reported that Tevez said he doesn't know why people are saying he wants to go because he hasn't told anyone that he does. Big, fat improve contract talks ahead I bet. I'd worry if RM came in for him but I don't think you'll see him playing his football in Italy next season.

Fuck off Mourinio.

"Improved contract talks"?? WTF for?? He's richer than Richy Fooking Rich and he's already said more money wouldn't make a difference!!

If he stays, it'll be because he's found his 'spiritual home', he knows we're on the verge of big things and no one else will treat him with more respect and love at any other club.

He's on enough money. Any more will be wildly obscene(as if it isn't now!!) and I'd be embarrassed of my club.

He seems to move every two years, has done for a while now, this way his agent and good friend earns a packet every time. I think there will be a renogiation and his pal will be given some money in this.

I understand that, but it's a given that City hate Joorbachian(or whatever) and won't budge any further on a King's Ransom in wages.I will also say to people that don't understand contracts, that they are individual to every club.

All this talk of 'who will pay £250,000 a week?!' is fair enough and far off the mark, as well. Tévez can afford to drop weekly wages for a bigger slice of the transfer fee and that's where his agent can get his money. CT won't need any more and is likely to accept a lower wage to play where he wants.

Transfer to any club, back on.

fair point Bigga, I'd be very suprised if RM came out and said what he said and it didn't happen, RM is very cagey and he wouldn't put himself in that situation unless he knew something we didn't

Well, I'm not saying owt on what Mancini said, I won't be drawn on it. It was a very balanced statement and one that can be viewed with the 'arm's length from Mancini' view or 'an honest Mancini' view.

I'd rather just wait and see what transpires over the next 2 weeks/ summer.

Not having it - all bob is doing is making people aware we don't want rid, a player we want to keep is alot more valuable than one we want rid Of....:: he's ofskis if you ask me, but he also goes with my blessing now, he's fulfilled his promise of taking us to the next level and for that he won't go In the boot.

If he stays and we add a couple of quality additions to the squad early this summer we'll win the league next season.

very much this.

I agree, his ability really could be the difference.

I believe the first team is currently three players short of the title and i think that will be addressed very soon.....

1 of 2 things. He does actually want to stay or the team who want him are being tight over a price or dragging their heels about it and we want to put pressure on them. I hope its the former.

I think you've got to take Mancini at his word. He's spent a good portion of the last few weeks laying the foundations for Carlos' departure. Seems quite a big about face for him to come out and say the player has said he wants to stay and that he has a five year contract etc...

Personally I think the player himself is probably beginning to realize he will never be top dog anywhere he goes in the way he is at City - he's got a top squad of players around him - and next season we play in the Champions League. Plus in the last few weeks we've begun to look like real genuine contenders...I imagine it's hard to walk away from a club that has the kind of feel good factor City has around it at present.

Wouldn't be so sure. Tevez said himself that he wants to stay...but his priority is his family.

So maybe he has told Mancini the same...that he he wants to stay..but maybe he has to leave because of family reasons. But Mancini with his bad english might not mention everything.

Everything can change quickly..he looked pretty happy tomorrow. But when his holidays start...it might be different. His opinion can change quickly, and his representatives aren't going to help the case.

If someone can afford him and wants to bid and if the offer is good enough...i dunno. Thats another thing..

But we'll see in summer. Im sure we will be fine with our without him.

Maybe it's just me, but managers only seem to trawl out the line "he's on a 5-year contract" when the player in question wants to leave. They say it to help get a better fee. If he genuinely wanted to stay, i don't see the need to mention the length of his contract.

IMO he seems genuninely torn as to what to do. He has a huge ego and wants to be at the biggest club that will bring him the most success. He has been unhappy over the past year, partly family, new manager, lack of CL/challenging for title, language, climate and also his "trusted" agent has been made unwelcome at City.
I think he had assumed he would be going in summer, probably City Management said we will let you go in summer if you want to if you get us in the CL.
With the successful run in he looks like he is having doubts. He likes winning trophies, being captain and the undisputed "main man" he is excited to be PL top scorer, we look like getting some of the best players available and perhaps we are on the verge of something special?
I still think he may go and he is not sure what to do.

Maybe we're taking it a season at a time - it's quite possible that we've said to him ''look, we can get your family over for this date, these dates and that date next season and put them up - and let you go go back to Argentina on this date, that date and that date...'' etc etc and we came up with something he was pleased with. One season at a time.

Still think he's going. I want him to stay but I don't fancy another season of him sulking around the pitch, transfer requests, arguing with Mancini and the regular press shite that's been going on.

Having watched the highlights when I got in last night, it was certainly evident how happy Carlos looked - not only with his own goals but with Jolene's as well, plus at the end of the game he acted like a captain should in gesturing to players about coming on to the pitch to clap the fans etc etc.

One way or another I get the feeling his future is already sorted, I just hope he is staying rather than pastures new.

It would potentially fit with Bob's after match comments to think he is now happy to stay.
