Mancini-Favourite To Be First Boss Sacked!

To be honest the difficult part of our progression starts now. Improving from tenth to fifth was the easy part as with the exception of Everton the teams above us we should really have finished above the previous season and would of if Hughes had found a way to cure our travel sickness.

Now we are trying to overthrow 3 of europes best sides, which have been established for years and have had the continuity of success and a stable team.

Fourth for me would be a fantastic achievement, but as pointed out the amount of money we have spent will always be highlighted within the media, in the event of a poor result and as some fans already have reservations with regards Mancini (even though he has averaged more points per game than his predecessor) it could make his position difficult.

Couldn't agree more.

well the pressure will really be on him...we are the team in the public eye especially with our transfer business in the last couple of summers....

expectations are very high and if the team have a bad start to the season then the pressure will only build and build...especially from the media...it will be

interesting to see our position by xmas....if its not better than MH's was at that point you can bet your life the media will be drawing comparrisons between the two and telling everyone that RM deserves to be sacked/will be sacked

Screw the media, if we draw or lose any of our first 8 games half the idiots on this site will out there with pitchforks and torches :p

if we lose or draw any game the pressure will come. IT should be a cert that we will do well, but thats not football.

Many on here follow what the media write, when it suits there own agenda and call it rubbish/anti city reporting when its doesn't suit there agenda.

I think some fans need a bit more balance. The guy has brought us top class young talent to the club which will benefit us for years to come. That alone gets my support.

So according to william hill he is first fave to be sacked and city 3rd faves to win league, no wonder i dont bet on anything

well if you lot are going to start putting extra pressure on him then it's hardly going to help him.

He has my complete support, the club made excellent progress from december onwards. He has a track record of success and has brought excellent young players to the club.

Yep, rightly or wrongly the pressure will be on more than ever. I wonder what the odds are on the first 'Mancini Out' thread :-p
It will be as soon as we drop points where perhaps we shouldn't. Those sort of results happen all the time in football yet people will see it as vindication to call for his head.

this team wont drop points anywhere, never mind where they should'nt:)

When Lee sacked Horton one of the reasons he gave was the press was constantly speculating on his position. I thought at the time what a stupid reason to sack a man. You sack a man on performance and result and you have to give him a proper chance at the job. Lee then brought in Ball, a mate of his, and look how well that turned out.

Bacon face was given 7 years to win the league at Manure! He had more money to spend than any other manager but they stuck with him because Bobby Charlton liked what he was doing with the squad and gave him his support.

Liverpool hate to sack their manager. They figured it out a long time ago that it doesn't work and they have been the most successful English club ever since as a result.

I am not saying Ball or Clarke shouldn't have been sacked but you have to give a man a decent shot at it and you should be very reluctant to get rid of him. A massive error by Swales was sacking Peter Reid. The man had got us 5th and 7th place which was amazing at that period. Our descent to the 3rd division started from there.

If you want a successful football club you cannot be ruled by the mob. Last season Mancini 'had' to get 4th or he would get sacked according to the press and other know nothings. No-one can sack the manager except Sheik Mansour, only his opinion counts, and all the rest is speculation and bs.

Hopefully City's season will start with a flyer and keep that way. If it doesn't I hope Mancini will be given the time for his methods to bite and overcome the problems. We will gain a great deal more respect as a club giving our support to the manager - who has proved he can do it don't forget - than getting rid at the first run of bad results.

Realistically next season should be labelled transitional and a top 4 spot and a trophy are a bonus. No manager in the world can guarantee results straight away. Not even the 'great' Mourinho - whose style of football I cannot stand by the way. I'd rather have Keegan back than him.
