Mancini (Formally part of the Adebayor thread)

Well, tbh it's all about opinions and in my opinion Mancini is a fantastic manager who has worked wonders at our club. We'll never know of course but I'm certain we wouldn't have won the title under Hughes. To win an FA Cup then a league title in what to Mancini is a foreign country in his first two seasons is an amazing achievement regardless of what he's had to spend.

It's also good management shipping out players who in his opinion won't fit in to how he wants us to play, or how he wants the dressing room attitude. We as fans don't see half of what happens behind the scenes & we all have favourite players, and may sometimes disagree with decisions. But he must have called it right because City are Premier League Champions.

And this with virtually everyone in the media on his back and spouting shit to placate the drunken old twat at the swamp as well. The mind games at the end of the season were superb; saying it was over so the press couldn't put pressure on - Baconface cracked, not Bobby Manc. World class manager in my opinion; up there with Mourinho & Guardiola.

RDM won 2 cups with a team in complete disarray and beat the best team in the world RN route and both our group conquerors.

Ancellotti won a double.

Mourinho at Chelsea cleaned up.

All have none or limited experience in our league.

Just putting that out there, nothing at all to do wity Mancini.

Re: Adebayor

Just a reminder though, this is an Adebayor thread........

Maybe start a new one or resurrect an existing for further Mancini debate?

Re: Adebayor

I still have a lot of doubts over Mancini he has made many bizarre decisions in his time with us such as playing Savic, selling Bellamy without bringing in any other winger with pace, quite a few poor buys etc however hopefully having won the league we can press on he will learn from mistakes and we can get a bit of continuity in the club like United and Arsenal.

possibly the most pathetic post i`ve ever read on bluemoon

Care to expand and put me straight?

He guided us to the top with a top team, he didn't guide us to the top with lesser players. We should have beaten a truly woeful Everton who fielded players out of position even for example.

How well did we do in Europe again?

I want Mancini to succeed, but questions are still there. I believe my questions will be answered in due time but I'm more than free to question him. I look past his work with City and look at his form in Europe with Inter and how poor the teams around him were then when he won titles etc.

This isn't some tosh I just thought of. My questions have harboured for a long time. Like I said, expand?

Btw, Oakiecokie your post has been best opposing post yet and cheers for reply. Nothing like HEALTHY debate.

And with an attitude like yours I`m suprised you havn`t yet snapped up a ST for OT.Seems the best place for your to venture with the dribble you`re poring out.

What attitude is this then?

I speak sense imo and I think my points out before posting, I debate all posts that come my way and I offer fair game to debaters.

I give credit to opposing views and even say fair enough if I feel I'm wrong.

I happen to think differently to others and yet I get pelters for it even though I haven't resorted you insults to get my point across.

I have supported City all my life and I take great exception to people calling me a rag. I believe it says more about the insulters intellect than anything else.

Just to clarify, on my mothers life I am City. I feel more need to prove that point.

You are absolutely correct none of the above has anything to do with Mancini or the fact that Mancini has completely transformed City from fuck ups to winners changing the cultture of the club in only two seasons.

Your post could have been written by any of the "experts" in the media who seems to think that money equals success, but we all saw that Hughes failed with the sheiks money.

This is not football maneger its real life and in real life only top manegers win the prem.

Spot on.

I personally think that a CB, Winger (right footed preferably) and CM are needed and we will imo dominate domestically. I predict United will fall away once Fergie retires and Chelsea will be our rivals.

I do worry about CL under Mancini based on Inter and last season but hopefully he pulls it together and learns from defeats to make amends. I think semi final should be our target. I'd be massively underwhelmed if we failed to qualify out of the group stages. Still its early to day that 100% without seeing our group.

-- Fri Jul 27, 2012 6:43 pm --

Hughes was dealing with a lesser team and smaller targets. Unfair to say otherwise.

I simply think Mancini is a bit green when it comes to managing.

You can't post crap like that and expect not to get a barrel load of abuse.

Bob has won 10 or 11 trophies/titles in his 10 years of management.

Hardly "green".....

Re: Adebayor

Getting rid of him from the wage bill is more important than the transfer fee in my opinion, so I'd be happy with City calling it a free transfer and then telling Tottenham to put the prepared transfer money into his wage packet instead and spread it out over his contract length

This started off about Ade and your references towards Bobbys poor managment skills, due to him "casting" off certain players.
Do you not agree that it was a very good move by RM to get rid of players who would not toe the line ?
Since the departure of Ade,(albeit for a short period) Bellamy,SWP and one or two more, the atmosphere in the dressing room seem`s a far distant memory, when it was a constant battle of "us and them" attitudes, formed by those players who hoped RM would fold under player pressure.
Unfortunately for those players,Bobby showed them who was boss.
Since then the stabilty has shone and non moreso than the Manager showing everyone "don`t mess with me"
IMO it seems to have worked.
Don`t you agree ??

No not unfair to say that Mancini has build a trophy winning side something Hughes failed to do, you seem to have one way of judging Mancini yet you want to give Hughes a pass.

Hughes failed and Mancini succeded.

You moan that people wont engage you in debate yet when someone does you cant seem to give a coherent response.
