Mancini - "I got it wrong" post match interview

So why the fook did DJ not start?

Because the snail Barry is supposed to be a defensive midfielder. Unfortunately he just doesn't do it well, though some will disagree (see thread: "BARRY!").

From the MUEN:

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini took the blame for his side's 3-0 defeat against Liverpool - and revealed that injured striker Carlos Tevez is a major doubt for Saturday's FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United.

"Tonight I made a mistake, it was my fault," Mancini told Sky Sports.

"I think the players can do better, but I made a mistake.

"I know (what the mistake was). It is for me.

"I am sorry for the fans. We only started to play after 20 minutes."

Although Mancini refused to specify what he thought his mistake was, many were surprised by his team selection, with David Silva and Nigel de Jong both starting on the bench.

Mancini's night was soured further with star striker Tevez forced off after just 16 minutes with a hamstring injury.

"His hamstring is very difficult for Saturday.

"It is very difficult as it is only five days away.

"We'll try (to get him fit) but we probably need two weeks."

We started to play after 20 minutes ???? I honestly never noticed.

No NDJ, or Silva, + Barry and Milner in the same team = defeat. Its not a hard equation for even the thickest to work out.

With 5 days before the next game we should have played the strongest team we have tonight, that does not include (in my opinion) Kolorov, Barry, Dzecko, or Milner. There was no reason to change the team, formation, or style of play from Sunderland, but he did.

Barry, Yaya, and Milner should never ever play together for us, its useless, and a game loser.

Lol, it made me wonder that comment... is he saying it was our job to walk away 0-0 at FT then?

Thanks for that Bobby. While you're at it how about accepting responsibility for the shit signings of Koralov, Balotelli and Dzeko, and the fact you have us on track for a lower points tally than last season despite spending well over 100mil.

The icing on the cake had to be pointlessly bringing two of our most important players on when the game was well and truly lost.

Shattered.

I really hope he goes.

Even if we finish 4th, I think we will be EMBARRASSED in the CL.

All this, i made a mistake is bollox. 300 Million quid, 2 managers aand we still less likely to frighten Liverpool at Anfield than Stoke. Mancini took the blame because he has no excuses left. The appointment of the failed Platt said it all to me, its the blind leading the blind. Any poster reading anything into the "i made a mistake", shite is deluded.

Try pinning it on the manager all you like, but the players on the pitch were at fault, some of the passes were totally embarassing, with neither the conviction nor the thought that should have gone into them (and that you expect from a professional footballer).

Too many of the players were coasting it, which is why we lost.

Mancini picked an almost identical team to the one that beat them 3 nil, and they had Gerrard back then too.

Calm down you pricks.

Which proves the players don't want to play for him, a bit like Scolari's time at Chelsea.

Can you honestly say Mancini deserves time? He has had a full season, plus last season as well, but I have hardly seen any progress in that time.

Mark Hughes was pretty shite but at least he got us playing good football and even beating Arsenal and Chelsea. With Mancini, it's like 'meh' when he puts out a team. We hardly play well, the tempo is too slow and picking the likes of Balotelli and Barry is criminal imo. Signing Balotelli was a huge mistake. He may be talented but it is clear he doesnt want to be at City, except for the huge pay ticket. Can you honestly say that he deserves a place in our team ahead of Bellamy or even Adebayor?

He is not a manager for a top 4 PL team. How can you rest players for a game which is like 5 days away? How can you take a striker off when we are losing 3-0 to be replaced by a holding mid?

How can you have a team full of attacking quality, yet make the team so reliant on one player (Tevez).
I can't wait till he goes, something that I have never said as a City fan before.
