Mancini isn't in charge of transfers... Or is he!

I reckon bob knows more than he is letting on ... he is the master at playing mind games with the press. Wouldn't be surprised if rvp is a 'done deal' and we are keeping it under our hats till after the arsenal game.

But on the subject of Marwood .... bet he went to same school as Gary Cook !!! PML

Bitter, sad, twat.

City fans should not be spouting shit like this when we are Champions.

Whether people like Marwood or not, Khaldoon employs him so he can decide if he wants to change it without sad, selfish wankers trying to air the clubs dirty laundry in public & calling themselves City fans.

This has puzzled me for some time and for what it is worth these are my thoughts.

No one person is in charge of transfer stategy at MCFC it is a collective.

In terms of targets no doubt Mancini has the final word but from the press conference once players identified then it is up to Marwood or acting CEO to conclude the deals.

The story so far, I reckon as a club our primary targets were identified months ago and I have no doubt there are secondary and even third targets for the positions we want.

I also reckon that there has been broad agreement over the timescale, I have no doubt Mancini would have wanted early completion but that might have compromised our dealing in selling players surplus to requirements. I beleive
when Hazard was being made available, a primary target, Mancni got his way and that is why we prudently went after what I beleive to be our primary target. From the press it seems that the agents fees were the sticking point and both ourselves and the Rags were not going to pay them, the transfer failed.

After that I beleive there has been a subsequent shift towards the move personel out before new players arrive, and that is what is currently holding up the present deals.

I also believe that MCFC thought Tevez would be the first one making noises to get out and that has encouraged us in pursuing RVP. However with his 180 degree turn and insisting he isn't going anywhere the next question was could we sell Dzeko. Bids have been received but all refused. To compound that we haven't shifted Ade or RSC. I believe once these two players are sold targets other than RVP will arrive.

As for RVP it is no good signing him if we have no one able to fund at our price Dzeko going the other way we then weeken our own position as everyone will know we are trying to get rid.

Thus we seem to have an impasse, can't sign RVP because no serious takers for Dzeko, no midfield signings while Ade and RSC are still on the books.

I suspect Mancini has had to go along with this strategy for a while because I suspect this came from the top but with his concerns about lack of strengthening of the side in the press conference I am sure the tide will turn in his favour again and maybe the midfield and CB players will arrive before RVP.

As for RVP we will only get him if we have a suitable buyer for Dzeko unless again there is a change of emphasis to sort out the outgoings after we have signed the players the manager wants, but this is a money risk option.

Absolutely spot on mate, the days of us just buying whoever we wanted has been ruined by the cheese eating surrender monkey, we now have to sell before buying.

People should just be happy that the sheik and his team were able to put together a title winning side before twattini started to wreck the party.

We have just seen chelsea spend on marin, mata, oscar and hazard for over £125 million and no players have left for fees...i think thats why city fans are wondering what we doing as chelsea are not bothered with ffp...same with psg

For me PSG are like we were in the first year Mancini was in charge when we signed Yaya, Silva etc. Rags offloaded Park before getting Kagawa, Chelsea had already offloaded Anelka and Drogba (probably a top earner) before they have made the three signings. Arsenal have bought Podolski and Giroud in anticipation of offloading RVP (that hasn't gone well) with bids far below what they anticipated getting for him (for now).

I am not saying my thoughts are right but I do think there has been an attempt by the club to offload before signing, but I also suspect that if Mancini says to the wner or Khaldoon you are putting at risk the chances of more silverware next season because of the policy adopted so far (which doesn't appear to be working) maybe the restraints will be relaxed.

I always like discussion but I get a little frustrated when objective thought comes down to single liners like Marwood is a prick, FFPR and the like even though I accept everyone is entitled to an opinion.
