Mancini on Bellers at the Press Conference

Mancini also said it was a "technical decision". It actually makes sense if you read the "Mancini's Inter tactics" thread, it appears we won't be playing with wingers this season and the shape we are expected to play doesn't have a natural position for Bellamy or Ireland.

Agreed.

Maybe it's a Italian thing, all about respect. As much as i like Bellers you cannot disrespect the Don. Mancini touched on the point Bellers made about not talking to him for 6 months, which was obviously made to embarress Mancini, and was untrue, that was very direspectful, and i think that on top of other publicised incidents was the moment Mancini decided he had to go.

I don't like what we're becoming. Ireland and Bellamy have been fucked over by the club. I never normally doubt the manager but I can't fathom this one out. Robinho better than Bellamy? Milner better than Ireland? I'm well and truly fucked off by this, look at Bellamy and his work rate compared to that lazy money grabbing tosser Robinho. It's a disgrace.

Mancini is getting rid of everyone that has slagged him off.

Although Tevez is too big a player for him to get rid of.

Funny, he always struck me as being bit of a midget...

The Ireland and Bellamy situations are completely different, you can't just add them up.

In Bellamy's case, if anyone created this mess, it was Bellamy, with his bigger than the manager statements. 2 weeks ago, Mancini bluntly said he was undecided on Bellamy. Craig just made that decision very easy for him in the end. Love the lad to bits, but it's not the club his loyalty lies with, as I would've thought a couple of months ago.

Ireland, he had a choice - either knuckle down and show that two 08/09 wasn't a one off or run off as soon as Villa showed interest, and make life easier for himself. He could've said that he's not interested in being part of the deal and that he wants to stay with the club.. he didn't. Mancini gave him plenty of chances preseason.. he is just taking the easy way out.

Not defending Mancini here as I am saddened to see these heroes leave, and I would've liked to see the club do everything to keep them. But they are no heroes of mine, if they don't want to be here and do what it takes either.

It's a very good analysis of Mancini's tactics but you can't honestly tell me that Bellamy is leaving because he doesn't fit into that system, and Santa Cruz and Jo are better options up front? And again, you can't say Robinho and an uproven Silva would be more effective than our player of the season in an attacking midfield position? Mancini has a problem with Bellamy and he's said things in the past about Ireland which give the impression he doesn't like him.

Their faces don't fit so they are out the door.

Interesting, half of the people slagging Mancini off in this thread were also slagging Mancini off in the thread that criticised him for being too diplomatic, not two days ago.

it's satisfying to have such a good 'man manager' at the helm

someone who doesn't hold grudges

How is this any different from Hughes moving out TBH, Jo and Elano?

Every manager will have problems with some players, and they will have to sell them to restore their command. Bellamy, Ireland and Nedum all mouthed off in the press and slagged him off, so he gets rid at the first opportunity. They aren't as important to the club as they seemed to have thought. Tevez on the other hand has criticised Mancini's methods in the past, and was recently quoted as saying how much he admires and respects Mancini and how he was wrong in the past.

Isn't this an example of him putting an arm around some when they need it, and getting rid of players that he doesn't think are making acceptable contributions?
