He did a fantastic job with Burnley, is doing great with Bolton, and has a good eye for young players, nuturing Sturridge and Wilshere. That is what City needs to be built around in my opinion, hungry, young players, keen to prove something. Not guys who are going to be here for one last big pay cheque. He plays positive football, knows whats required in England, and commands respect.
There are plenty of options, that don't include Mourinho. Villas-Boas, Hiddink, Tuchel, Emery, are all possibilities.
Yea, not guys who are going to be here for the pay cheque, unlike most football managers on the managerial merry-go-round! Get real. Mancini is looking 5, 10 years ahead to build something, and he'll learn the ways of the English Prem, given time. You have to believe he has the intelligence.
The only foolish thing to do would be to de-stabilise the team and get a new man in. It would set us back years in our overall development.
I don't believe Mancini is the right man for this club. At all. I don't think the players respect him, or even like him. He's aloof, stubborn and won't change. Yes stability, is needed, but with the right man, and the signs are all pointing towards Mancini being the wrong man. Keeping him could be more harmful, then bringing in someone new.
