Mancini out (Merged)

All as I can say is that Didsbury Dave, K. Reeves, Tolmies and I were all saying exactly the same six months ago that we are now. No bandwagon jumping, no knee jerk reactions. We saw it coming and went to great lengths to put our necks on the chopping block for 95% of Bluemoon to shoot us down in flames.

The fact that considerably more people agree with us now and considerably less people are shooting us down in flames, only goes to reinforce the belief that Didsbury Dave simply believes he is right because he is!:)

I'm actually out of energy on the whole issue. I wrote 3,000 words on the issue in the last KK (well 2,700 because 300 I copied and pasted from a fellow poster on here whose name I couldn't remember to give him the credit he deserved for it:)) and just feel too deflated by the whole issue to write anymore. (If anyone wants to read it on the off chance, PM me and I'll email it as it's too big for a post.

The kindest way I can describe Mancini is that he is a clueless buffoon. Stronger words get used when I've had a couple of pints of Guinness.

What was you saying 6 months ago? That you didn't rate Mancini? A lot haven't rated him from day one for whatever reasons. I have absolutely no problem with people not thinking Mancini is the right man but people calling him a clueless buffoon and things as such is ridiculous. A clueless bafoon doesn't achieve what he's achieved as a manager in what is so far a short career, a clueless bafoon doesn't take a team to 4th with 6 games to go.

I acknowledge that at times this season and especially on Monday we've not been good enough and Mancini does make mistakes (He acknowledges that himself) but as a manager he's at a stage where he still has plenty to learn. His style might not work in the premiership, he might never win us the champions league, infact he might not even get us in the top four but how about we see where we finish at the end of the season before calling him a clueless bafoon, i'm not asking you or anyone else to wait 6 months or whatever, i'm just saying how about you wait another 6 league games. If we finish top 4 then he'll have done a good job, in his first full season he'll have took us above Spurs and into the champions league, that would represent progress surely?

I understand that people have made their decision with regards to Mancini and that even if we come 4th they won't want him to stay, their reasons behind that i'm not sure. It's all well and good saying thats the minimum expectation, we should be doing better but what you have to look is who the teams in the top three are. We aren't trying to overtake teams who don't have quality, we are trying to take over teams who have been signing quality players for a number of seasons, who have settled squads. I don't think it's reasonable to say we should be finishing better than 4th in the managers first full season, we signed x amount of players in the summer and barely had a pre season together

The performance on Monday wasn't good enough, the performance before was more than good enough, it was silly IMO of Mancini to drop De Jong and Silva. De Jong for me is the most important player in terms of how he has an effect on the system Mancini favours, his positional play is outstanding and i'm confident with De Jong and Silva back and starting we'll see more performances like Sunderland than the Liverpool one, if we don't and we end up getting beat in the semi and finishing 5th i'll hold my hands up and say Mancini's not done well enough, until then i think with De Jong and Silva back in the starting line up we'll be much better and finish 4th at the very least

Hey I need adding to that list! I've been slaughtered at the start for daring to say Mancini wasn't the savior!

Ever get the impression some people are hoping it all goes tits up just so they can say "Told you so"?

Yep, pretty sad and pathetic really.

This thread isn't worthy of 53 pages worth of replies.

JOSE MOURINHO believes he will succeed Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford.

The Special One wants to take over as Manchester United boss at the end of next season - and reckons he will get the job.

SunSport revealed last month that Real Madrid manager Mourinho, 48, is set on 'coming home' to the Premier League.

He has told close pals he believes the way will be open for him in the summer of 2012.

The problem would come if Fergie decides to go out on a high this year with a second Treble triumph.

Mourinho has three years left on his Real deal but could walk away, such is his desire to return to work in the Prem.

Fergie, 69, said recently: "Jose is a great friend of mine. We've spoken many times about his future and I understand his wish to return to England.

"But it's difficult for me to say when my position will be available. It will be my health that decides."

United chiefs are keen on Mourinho, who won the Champions League with both Porto and Inter Milan and guided Chelsea to two Premier League titles.

The Portuguese coach has led Real into their first Champions League semi-final since 2003, where they will meet bitter rivals Barcelona.

United had earmarked Everton boss David Moyes.

But Mourinho's CV and standing in the game are proving too hard to ignore.

Mourinho was asked yesterday if he might replace Roberto Mancini at Manchester City. He replied: "I say it is impossible."

Mancini said: "Yes, and I think it would be impossible for me to go to Madrid."

The Hughes Out brigade were. I've heard reports of people laughing when we lost. Not laughing too hide the tears - but laughing because they thought it was funny. This is people at the Matches.

If anyone genuinely wants City to fail then they can fuck off. Melt their Seasoncard.
