Mancini. Please leave now for everyone's sake.

OP You have obviously gone to a lot of trouble with the post. I'm not ready to sack Roberto yet but do think he has underperformed. I do think you have made some valid points though. With 3 points for a win and one point for a draw the only legitimate tactic for a title chasing side is to go for a win. That's it. Send a side out to outscore the opposition. Unbeaten runs are a smokescreen. 30 draws on the trot looks good but gets you 30 points. 11 wins and 19 losses gets you 33 points. WINNING is all that matters. Be brave Roberto, not reckless, not foolhardy but brave and go for the win. Another moan I'd like to have is the "target is 4th place" crap. Why? Some of our fans seem to have bought into the "Project" mentality. We are not a project, not a business but a football team. If we are in a competition then let's try and win it please. I find this settling for fourth place mentality pathetic. Presumably if we get fourth place and qualify for the qualifying round of the Champions League next year our target will be the knockout rounds of the Champions League. People can do extraordinary things if they believe. Ali beat Liston, Forest won the League the year after getting promoted, Wimbledon beat Liverpool in the FA Cup final. Because of our negative aspirations we are all now looking at Tottenham, Liverpool etc below us instead of Chelsea and Arsenal above us.

And who do you suggest we bring in?

Deary me. We didn't even lose for fuck's sake. Unbeaten in three and this happens.

Ungreatful.
1. That's not my job. We have people at the club th make that decision.
2. We didn't lose? Is that your aspiration? Did you arrive at Comms today thinking "I hope we scrape a draw?" No, I bet you didn't.
3. Unbeaten in 3? Poor attempt! I look at the picture overall since he arrived and for me the team is actually worse this season than last, I could state many stats but we all know them. They are not condusive to a team going for champions league football and by the end of the season dissapointment will be magnified a 1000 times to what it is now if this continues.

If it's constructive criticism you're after may I suggest you don't use words you can't spell, it is not conducive to being taken seriously.

I think that those who do abuse other posters lack any constructive views themselves so have to go down the road of insults.Like I have said before everyone has there different opinions it dies not matter one way or another if I agree with them or not,but to resort to abuse is unwarranted.

I agree and disagree. I think within the team we should be aiming for the title, not 4th. No need to shout it from the rooftops but Chelsea, Arsenal and the rags are who we should be trying to keep up with.

But supporters settling for 4th isn't going to have any effect on our prospects. Personally I think we should be pushing the top 2, but if we end the season in 4th I will be able to see that for what it is - a huge step forward for the project and the football club.

CORRECT Mancini I am sorry to say is fucking CLUELESS his style of football is negative and 100% Italian this is the English Premier League a completely different style of football and mentality. And I am sorry but you people who keep saying "what do people want" give him a chance etc we are one year on and getting FUCKING WORSE

Then we'll deal with it at the end of the season - for a change.

If we were bottom of the league with 5 points I'd say yes.

Its pretty obvious that although not pretty RM's tactics are reasonably succesful.

We are 4th.

What would you have him do?

go hell for leather attack. Fuck tactics....

If we let goals in then we have to score more than the opposition.

We know how succesful that idea is, chelsea have done it for years as did the 70's & 80's Liverpool sides, and before them Leeds.

Apparently we had a manager who tried this, but for some reason it didnt work & he was sacked for being 5th in the league & in a SF.

Have some patience.

I would love to be able to sit here and type out a thoughtfull and intellectually stimulating response to your original post Reeves, but I stopped reading anything that you write two or three months ago.

Spot on, yet mancini's mindset remains the same. When we had many players out I bought into the idea that once he had all his players on the pitch things may change but sadly they haven't. It doesn't really matter who mancini plays becuase the system will always remain the same. Caution, don't concede and hope for that 1 piece of magic/luck to score a goal. And you're right with the points thing. Winning games = success not losing and drawing and winning breeds confidence which is hard to produce if the players are constantly worrying about conceeding. Fear destroys the best of us.

FORZA MANCINI

It will come good guys

Defence sorted then attack will gel

we start winning and momentum grows for end of season
