Mancini..the man, the politician?

I also think he plays the "me no speaka da English" card well.

If he doesn't want to answer a loaded question, especially in post match situations, he has a way of getting around it.

That's very important...

Well I for one don`t mind holding my hand up and publically stating I got it wrong with Bobby Manc !!
Yes I was one of the Hughes must stay brigade, but thats not the point I want to dwell on now.
Roberto came into the club with his knowledge of trying to play attacking football, which he proved in Italy. However it soon became evident that this was not the case at City and he tried and did a very good job of tightening up the defence.
At times, and even the most ardent of then Bobby Manc fans would admit,it wasn`t pretty.
On reflection and isn`t hindsight a wonderful tool,he felt he did not have the right tools (how apt for some players) for the job he wanted to do.
But look at him now !!!!!!!!
Marvellous individual talents coming into the Club, some world famous names, but mostly because they look at Bobby Manc and know what he wants, what he expects, but mostly THEY believe in him and his capabilities.
Of course money talks and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to take those fucking blinkers off urgently !!
As you can see from my opening lines,a Hughes admirer I was,but a now true admirer of the Bobby Manc Brigade and proud to have now moved on !!

I'll only be happy with Mancini when he achieves something. Last year was a failure for both Hughes and Mancini. Hughes had 2 failed seasons and deserved the boot (as did SGE before him), Mancini I hope will not fail a 2nd time but if he does then ... out on his ear imo.

At the moment I rate Pearce, Keegan, Royle, Horton and even Reid above him. All achieved what they could with what they had. Keegan and Royle giving us the most joy I think. Horton and Keegan giving us the best football.

People call for stability but IMO that must be earned. It starts with the owner sticking around and gaining enough experience to not be dooped by trickster managers (like Capello has dooped the FA). Sure out there is a man who can do a good and honest job. I hope it's our current manager but as of yet I see no evidence.

Please earn my respect Mr Mancini. :-)

Would you also agree that RM has also got players to join the club in a very different way to MH?

It seems MH was willing to tell Terry for example how big he was and how important he would be at City.

According to what I have read and heard the message to players from RM is that City are THE best club for them to join and THEY should be excited by that challenge.

Squad rotation and ego's wont be a problem under RM

Hope he can stay with us for years to come. He can succeed, just give him time. His only limit may be winning the Champions League, the one thing he couldn't do with Inter. But lets not worry about that "problem" yet. =)

The one thing I want in a manger for my club is a man with dignity in defeat as well as in victory.

I sense we have that with Roberto.

As the wife said when she first saw him 'he has kind eyes but a steely gaze'

Funny that. It's not what my Mrs said when she first saw him 80(

I fully endorse your sentiments ref the difference in characters and IMO Booby Manc has the better man management skills.
I think that one of MH failings was the problem in trying to sell himself to a Player,as well as selling the Club.
I also believe that RM has shown already that he has that bit more charisma about him than MH.
However and I wont dwell on it,I still believe that MH was shit on.But thats another thread thats been covered time and time again.

The press like to treat him as if he's an idiot because of it, just like they did with Ranieri. I think Mancini's happy with that, as there's no harm in being smarter than you're given credit for.

Last season was a learning curve for him. He knew areas of the team weren't strong enough, but we also got caught being too defensive at times. Hopefully, he's learned how to play in the PL which isn't straightforward - ask Ramos or Scholari.
