Mancini has ended the rot against United, in case you have forgotten before last night they beat us 4 times in a row in the league, yes we were cautious, but let's not forget United barely worked our goalkeeper in 90 minutes, how many teams will be able to say that at the end of the season?.

I also suspect if our box to box midfielder Yaya Toure hadn't played like a complete cabbage we would of offered a lot more going forward. Never the less we could have nicked it from Carlos' free-kick or Zaba at the end.

They couldn't break us down, the first step on the ladder to becoming better than them.

Our setup was exactly the same GStar. The only difference was that Uniteds midfield doesn't have the legs of Chelsea's, so there were very few gaps to exploit as by and large Scholes and Carrick just sit and form an effective shield. Chelsea only had Mikel doing that. Plus, United had Park tuck in to effectively make it 4 vs 3 in their favour. That's why we couldn't dominate the midfield the way we did vs Chelsea.

If you note the first 25-30 minutes Park stayed in his usual widish position, and we had all of the ball. I thought we were going to crush them. To be fair to Fergie he solved that problem, and thus requiring us to change our system to counter it, which Mancini wasn't prepared to do. whereas Ancelotti was 1-0 down at that point so gambled by throwing on more forward players, which plays into our hands as it leaves Carlos and Silva less isolated.

In short we set out exactly the same way, but the circumstances of the goal dictated how the rest of the game played out.

Mancini for me plays by percentages. He knows that that team can see out a game regardless of the opposition.

After 45 minutes he was probably 80% sure of getting a point if we were happy with that. If we went all out, chances of winning jump to 50-60% but chances of a loss increase from 20% to 40-50%. Given the stakes and how far behind we would be if we lost, I understand the reasoning.

but yaya has been a cabbage all season bar west brom and liverpool, yet mancini still plays him there? look, I can see why some fans are happy with a point, but these performances don't reflect the amount of talent we have in our squad. we should have enough steel in this side AND be able to play attractive football. surely?

Does anyone genuinely believe UTD will adopt similar tactics when they play us at home? The rags would slaughter Fergie. That was the most negative performance I've seen us play under Mancini, no ambition whatsoever. You can't dress it up.

Forevercity, being gutless would be for him to move away from his footballing principles and do things for the sake of others ie. you. A bit similar to the way in which a fan in the crowd shouts something to a player and expects him to do it. For that reason he's quite the opposite to gutless.
