So we lose away from home to a side challenging for a European place and the end of the world is nigh.

Everton played very well as they always do against us, yet it took a worldy goal just as we had begun to dominate, a last minute fluke and possibly the worst penalty decision i have ever seen for them to do it

Some on here seem to think we are miles better than we are. We are marginaly better than most and its a small margin and i was disscussing with a mate yesterday, too often this season those small margins have worked against us and things havent gone our way. Thats life im afraid and calling for the sacking of everyman and his dog will not change the effect small margins have. Last season things went for us, this season not so much.

We could be much better than most with a better manager.

look at mancinis record for trophies since he has been at city compared to moyes....managers are judged on what they win not on individual battles against certain teams........mancini has won the fa cup, the league title and the charity shield.....moyes has won NOTHING!!!!!

compare the style of football the two teams play........id have mancini every time even if it means that we lose to everton ever season.....

moyes with us wouldnt have the same success in my opinion....you never know we may able to test this theory out soon cause it hink moyes is one of the possible candidates for the utd job if and when fergie goes

I loathe Moyes but comparing his trophy haul at Everton to Mancini's at City is fatuous.

ok compare trophy haul career wise, compare styles of play, compare personality if you wish....mancini wins hands down in all and moyes with our tema wouldnt be able to get us playing the football mancini odes cause its not his style of play

So in your opinion, given the investment/time/resources available, is t the manager responsible for us only being marginally better than clubs who have spent a fraction of what we have?

The only thing united fans will be scared of is us hiring Mourinho, they will be praying we stick with Mancini.

thats rubbish..i know a lot of utd fans who are scared of where we can go and the football we play under mancini.......plus the biggest acholade to the way we play under him is that fergie after all the years of playing basic 4-4-2 has adapted his style to play more the way we play(not exactly like it but he has moved towards it) to combat us

Reading through opposition fans forum and talking to mates most don't rate him and certainly don't fear him.

all you have to do is listen to the constant "why has he brought on a full nack when they are chasing a lead" comments shows you how much your average football fan knows about football and tactics ( and i heard it from a plymouth fan in the pub yesterday........most only know what the idiots on sky tell them and until Neville got onto the show they all know very very little!)

had a bit of time to collect my thoughts on the game yesterday.

motivation, performances and results all come down to the manager, no-one else. bobs team has failed miserably this season, yes we are 2nd, but the inability to keep pace with the rags is worrying.

the performances and the way our team has been worked out by other teams, and our subsequent failure to adapt our game is shocking. that is the most telling thing for me. that winger we bought from Swansea, I cant honestly remember his name off the top of my head, is a point in case. and the fact I cant remember his name is also making me question just what the fuck did we buy him for? cos it wasn't for playing!!

I am pretty sure bob is gone in the summer, the failure in the cl is the main reason, but our capitulation in the league has shoved the last nail in - fa cup win or not. the owners will be looking at the progress made by psg and asking awkward questions.

the owners will splash out on a big name, jose is the obvious name as he has succeeded in the cl regularly.

I don't blame the players though, motivated or not, they are sent out by the manager under instruction to play in certain ways and formations, some of them have been baffling.

Yeah that's right - Roberto really sent Gaz Barry out at Southampton with direct instructions to score in his own net. The players have no responsibility for results at all !!

Against Southampton, they like many other teams pressed and played with a high tempo.

Mancini has created a slow ponderous team that cannot cope with this style. Great manager's adapt, he hasn't and isn't.

every fighting team will try the high tempo pressing game from now on because it works against us. the first sign of it happening was dortmunnd at home in the cl, everybody in the football world twigged what was happening and it has been repeated ever since. sometimes it has failed because the opposing team weren't good enough to carry it out correctly. but when done well - like Southampton and everton - it works well and we look like a pub team. THAT is bad management and tactical inability to evolve. the rags did it to us in the home derby as well.

p.s. barry, put the ball in his own net because of the reasons above, not because he couldn't be arsed!!!
