Just saying the top clubs in Europe make sure their most important players don't play for their countries on their say so especially after long injury. We all know what the rules are but........
Not for competitive games.

Unless you've got some examples to prove me wrong of course...

I don't think we will ever know how many fully fit players haven't played a competitive international

Out of a 100 examples of players not playing a competitive international when fully fit the name Ryan Giggs will appear 70 times...

...the other 30 will have played for MU

One of the many qualities that appeal to me about our captain is his integrity. He was fit to play and proud to play for his country, and he would have gone down in my estimation of him if he lied to get out of playing.

I think it's the lengthening list they are having a go at

The list is lengthened based on managers linked with us. People seem offended because these managers don't have the trophies that Mancini does, but quite frankly Benitez has a similar amount of trophies to Mancini and I don't think there'd be many saying he's of the right pedigree either.

Now you really are scraping the barrel.
Mancini's record is far, far better than that of Benitez.

He would have gone down in mine if he had broken down with same injury

He didn't. Why? Because he was fit.

But he knows he did wrong.

It could happen anytime.

This stuff about club versus country is meaningless in the scheme of things.

You could argue that 90 minutes of decent football would sharpen him up for Newcastle.

Last time he admitted he came back from his calf injury too quickly due to the run in and despite a fair pre season he broke down again quite quickly.

Again he came back too quickly and again we saw what happened.

Calf injuries can take a long time to get over.

He wanted to play and his manager wanted to play him.

Of course RM is entitled to be concerned but at the end of the day professional footballers if they feel they are ok to start will want to play in as many games as possible.

I agree. I have no issue with Vincent playing for his country when fit. I have no issue with Roberto been more concerned about City's season than Belgium qualifying for the WC nor reminding Vincent of his obligations to the club. I don't even have an issue with Vincent taking some umbrage over the incident. Both are big boys and all that.

If Vincent tries to make an issue out of it with any of that 'its me or him' bobbins then it begs the obvious question and one that really requires an answer...

...why the hell hasn't tolmie dropped Vinny a private tweet telling him to relax and calm down as Mancini is toast in the summer?

LOL.

Bottom line is once again too much being made by some mooners over nothing.

VK is smart enough to know when he is ok to play and when he is not along with the medical staff of both club and country.

Why is this Kompany non-issue still being discussed on here?

Even the tabloids realise it's a mole hill.

We're our own worst enemy sometimes.

I am still wondering why the Mancini thread is still alive.

Its been pulled off the forum that many times I thought it would have been dead and buried long ago.

It's a question, still without a reasonable answer.

What did Kompany do "wrong" by playing in a game he was declared fit for by two sets of medical staff?

Who is saying he did wrong?
