The usual responses have started in another thread, Rammy. There's a fair bit of confusion, bearing in mind the latest addition to Bob's massive naughty step is vinny (i think nasri and hart have been allowed to come back to say sorry), but we're mainly going down the 'rag press destabilising us before derby' route, even though it's a belgian paper. One or two frantically shifting the blame to the fitness coach.

I'm sure you can predict it all. It will be my fault by eleven o'clock when news filters through the nipple threads in the cellar ;-)

There's something very strange going on at City at the moment, and I'm not trying to entertain debate by saying it.

Even by Bob's usual abrasive style, this is on a completely new level.

I just can't get my head around it. Whether "you" are an outer or inner or fencesitter it just doesn't sit right.

No, it's fine because Bob (K) says so and we are all just gullible fools.

Yep, sorry, I forgot. Get rid of Vinny, he's not made of the right stuff.

I do wonder how some of you lot are going to cope when Mancini is still here next season. Therapy, perhaps?

I was going to suggest lobotomies all round and then realized that would be superfluous.

In addition if the dreaded Mancini does stay that suggests he has the backing of the Barca pair as well as our owner. Can the usual suspects then just shut the fuck up for a season or is that too much to ask.

Obviously if they sack him then they obviously agree with DD, BS etc and we will be able to see how right they were all along.

On the other hand we will all be here to console you and wipe away your tears if he does go.

Had a chat with a journalist mate today. I commented that Mancini appears to no longer give a fuck about anything but the here and now. Make of that what you will - I've certainly drawn my own conclusion. What's ironic is that we both agreed that vinny could finish Mancini off with an exposé, but my friend reminded me that vinny will have the right ' ears' regardless.

I'd say this little piece is just a little shot back from an angry vinny.

Who commented. You or the journo?

Anyway there is a great CL going on but your still sticking the knife in after a 4-0 victory.

By going to the match to support the team, then coming on here to praise/woman & moan as appropriate.

It's about time Ferran and Txiki got involved with all this. If Bob is trying to sign his own death warrant then we really need to nip this in the bud. As you said it's crazy that Bob has used a press conference to spill his guts once again, causing a rift with our skipper and leader. I said the other day that Bob was forcing a "back me/sack me", sounds to me like he just wants to ensure he gets max payoff at the moment.

The word 'gullible' was invented for DD and his ilk or maybe they just like to believe want they to believe.

Tbh I think it's sad that they jump on these articles as some kind of vindication, their argument has gone from his footballing achievement to his supposed man management abilities.

I will remind them of fergies falling out with Beckham, his ruthless dumping of Jaap stam and the way he got rid of Keane towards the twilight of his career.

I'm sorry but once you give an indication that players, I don't care who they are, are more powerful than the manager you are on a slippery slope.

The likes of DD and others who jump on these articles are just encouraging the media to write more rubbish.

Hmmm, I think the difference being that Fergie had a CL win, about 5 titles and various cup wins in the bag at the point he dumped those guys you mention....probably gave him a position of some strength to deal with those players? Much as I like DD I doubt he has much influence with the Belgian press.

Oh right so what 'is' the benchmark when you are allowed to actually be the boss.

Fergie has also fallen out with berbatov - remember him laughing at him being miserable on the bench and Nani is the latest who was out of favour this season and is likely to leave in the summer.

I'm sorry but if a manager is be successful he has to have total authority and its a corny phrase but no player is bigger than the club. I think every rag fan was against the sale of Beckham, he was a global superstar, but he wouldn't toe the Fergie line so he went, and quite right too.

In this situation the club will either back the manager as they did with the tevez saga or they will genuinely think the situation has been badly managed in which case the club will be in the best position to judge.

I will be damned however if I'm going to go against our manager as a result of this 'story' and I will always back a manager against a recalcitrant player pursuing his own agenda even if that does happen to be Vinny - otherwise every manager who manages this club, whoever they are is otherwise doomed to failure.
