Absolutely this.

Imagine, less than 10 years ago if someone said a manager would get us the title and FA Cup we'd have thought he'd had a few too many ales. Mancini is already a legend in my opinion, we can't win everything every year, second and another Cup is pretty decent I reckon, then next year let's get our title back!

I think he was top notch 6- 8 years ago,i don't anymore
However he has just won 6 out of his last 7 and dragged them back in the top 4
So i guess the fickle fans might not be on his back as much :)

If he was top notch and is now even more experienced, why could a move to a new club with the resources of City not lead to him producing a top notch performance? He's not gone senile.

Everyone knows he needs decent defenders and defensive midfield, not to mention a goalkeeper. If he can't put that right in 10 years he isn't good enough.
In fact he hasn't won anything since he lost the defenders and goalkeeper he inherited.

Lehmann, Lauren, Campbell, Toure, Cole; which of those invincibles did he inherit?

Think that's how it goes:)

Lol.

In other words you are thankful like all fans for our owners.

I think you can be thankful for the owner as well as the people that made it happen on the training ground and pitch.

I certainly don't understand how anyone wouldn't be thankful to Mancini for his contributions to our success when he does leave the club.

I am thankful; he ended years of shit. But, in my opinion, it's time for a change.

God are you lot still at it.

I imagine that some club's supporters would be absolutely amazed that we are now approaching 700 pages discussing how shit , or otherwise, Mancini is.

Go on then, name me one supporter that has said Mancini is shit?

Absolutely. For one, I rate him very highly as an excellent manager. It's just that I happen to believe there are a few better, and believe that if you can improve then you should do, regardless of what's already been achieved.

As for the length of this thread, no bloody wonder when every third post is someone coming on to comment on the number of pages/wonder why it's still going

I don't actually understand why you would say that: how many City supporters do you think won't be grateful to Bobby for the trophies won and that day in May?

Why? Haven't we done the changing managers often thing? We ended up in League 1.

-- Sat Apr 06, 2013 8:26 pm --

No. Just think sometimes we need to apply a bit of perspective.

That's fine. Just don't understand those that can't bring themselves to be grateful for RM for his contributions last year in particular.

Quite a few seem to be overly keen to deflect any praise for Mancini onto the owner.

Don't see the same happening with say Aguero for example who wouldn't be at the club if not for Sheikh Mansour.

I don't want a change for changes sake. I honestly believe Mancini has taken us as far as he can. I wanted him to succeed even more with us, I just don't think that he should be given another bucket load of money to get "the players he wants"

And no disrespect mate. But if I see the word "perspective" one more time I'm going to fucking scream. We are not the team of 10 years ago. You may not have noticed, but things have changed around here.

Talk is cheap? It's a forum mate.

I can see Jack Nicholsons typewriter now in The Shining...
Get behind the team
Get behind the team
Get behind the team
....and so on until the onset of axe-wielding madness

Course, but I mean that we can't expect the title every year, even Barca don't do that, and the scum didn't always, Chelsea and Arsenal won a few. This season we fucked up a bit, let's see how next season goes before getting rid of a title winning manager.

Depends on who (if anyone) we bring in. That's besides the point. Mancini already has a very expensive squad, he then wanted another x amount to improve it. And despite spending £50mil in the summer, still complained.

That doesn't mean that they don't recognise what Bobby has done well etc. However, the biggest component in our sucess is the money spent as it is in Chelsea's; as it is in United's enduring Premier League success. Manager's play their part but the correaltion between wage bills and success is undeniable.

Can you name someone who won't thank Bobby when he leaves?

£14m net spending this season. Less half than the rags', and that £14m went on replacing De Jong with Garcia.

its not beside the point its what you put in quotes
are you naive enough to think the next manager will only work with these players already here,

Top teams evey year improve their squads with better players thats why they remain at the top
