This also had a big knock-on effect on traffic in and around the city centre last season when it was closed for one of our home games. Oxford Road was even worse than usual.

The Mancunian Way will be closed on Saturday between the hours of 06:00 to 15:30 for routine maintenance. Match-day traffic leaving the ground will have access as the council have arranged for it to open to ease congestion.

If you must drive, take a detour south round the M60 and head in via Kingsway/Longsight/Kirkmanshulme Lane or via Hyde Road.
I certainly wouldn't use the bus from Urmston. It'll be pretty much gridlock once you pass Eccles.
Driving through Longsight on a matchday is a nightmare in my experience but then I suppose it is better than sitting with the proles on a train or bus.
