Mangala joins Valencia on a Permanent deal

I’m not sure about that. The reports that say its 42 also say payments were made to multiple groups over different time periods and that the total was near 42 so I’m not sure that would be easy to spot from one set of accounts not that I’ve seen them. Certainly City didn’t deny it not that that proves much either.

I think only City know for sure but I’m no accountant.
They did. It was 2013/14 I think, and it was included because the deal was done around year-end, therefore material. Unless you think the directors provided false information, risking criminal charges, there really isn't any debate about it.

I’ve no idea I just remember all the reports that came out saying it was more than originally thought. I wonder why it was so widely reported if it was untrue. Mind you nothing would surprise me these days.

We paid about €30M to Porto for him and an extra €23M to Doyen Sports and Danubio who had 3rd party ownership of Mangala. At the time €53M was equivalent to £42M.

These figures are taken from Football Leaks, the whistleblowers, who also reported the fees and contracts for Pogba, Martial and Neymar among others.

They are also responsible for Twente being banned by UEFA from European competitions for 3 years accepting money from Doyen Sports. Very much a credible source.

I'm fairly certain that we can't actually pay 3rd party's off, the selling club has to buy his rights outright and then we pay them. Unless this rule was brought in after we bought Mangala.

Last chance to get some cash for him in January though I’d be surprised.

We never even get a fitness update. I know he won’t play again but it’s like he’s already gone. Anybody know?

Thats how i see it,so i dont really care,i just put it down to a fuck up amongst a sea of excellent additions.

He'll still make a good signing for a Newcastle/Watford/United type team

Pretty much a write off at this point. Will just be happy to get him off the payroll and off the roster.
No disrespect to him as a human being but as a footballer, isn't good enough, was never good enough and will go down as one of our worst transfer mistakes.
