Everyone? Not really. I was one of the AGAINST crew.
Kept arguing we should spend the money on Sanchez and Fabregas instead.
1. I thought he was poor technically, and at best would develop into a Mamadou Sahko type. Whoever scouted him and thought he was worth almost all our finances in a restricted window wasn't very smart. I said as much st the time. :(
@Banned Tosspot I'm sure if you had checked as you did, you'd have found the evidence supporting the claim above. But just In case you were not just being disingenuous and are really bad at reading search results, let me help.
On "Everyone? Not really. I was one of the against crew" below is the main Mangala signing thread. Where You'd find the views of those who opposed it. Mines included.

On "Mangala being poor technically, and a Sahko type" here is one of many such references: from July 22nd 2014
Dax777 said:The notion that price determines quality is silly, I think, and sure I could end up wrong in the long run, that Veltman is just straight up a better footballer than Mangala. Better Ball skill, tactical awareness and all round defender. Mangala is bigger stronger and more athletic. Mangala is pretty much Sahko with a bit more skill

Dax777 said:in choosing to spunk 30 million on a team that is set at all positions, you and unfortunately the club have concluded it was a better decision to spend it on a player who plays in Portugal, is a backup to Sahko (of the leaky Liverpool defense). Over Chile's superstar, Ex-Barcelona , who's performance was ranked 6th in the Spanish league last season, has the dribbling skills that will help break down banks of 4 defenses we will see lots of this season. Sure believe the defender is the better choice. Common sense suggests otherwise.
Even the one you chose to highlight states "I wouldn't have bought him" and "he wasn't going to make a difference." That should have clued you in on where I stood.
Like I said, there were some who were against it.
