Kept arguing we should spend the money on Sanchez and Fabregas instead.

1. I thought he was poor technically, and at best would develop into a Mamadou Sahko type. Whoever scouted him and thought he was worth almost all our finances in a restricted window wasn't very smart. I said as much st the time. :(

The notion that price determines quality is silly, I think, and sure I could end up wrong in the long run, that Veltman is just straight up a better footballer than Mangala. Better Ball skill, tactical awareness and all round defender. Mangala is bigger stronger and more athletic. Mangala is pretty much Sahko with a bit more skill
