Mangala joins Valencia on a Permanent deal

Not many clubs are after him.

One thing is clear his contract was running out 30th of June but we extended it. So in 11 days he would have been released. It is gonna be fun to see whats the plan if we cant sell him. Even with the loan we will have to pay part of his salary if its a smaller club he ends up with.

Probably we wont waste a foreign spot in the squad on him so he will be in no mans land if he stays.

And then another joke is his fitness, is he even fit? Was he fit at all last season?

He signed a one year extension so that City could recoup some small fee for him. By all accounts a deal was agreed with Porto but wages were the issue.

Not just Mangala but some footballers really piss me off.

Signing on fees, wages etc will have made him a very rich man that sort that most of us could only dream about. He's had injuries but fell I think it's fair to say very very lucky getting the golden ticket with us.

I'm sure at one stage actually playing football was what he wanted but an offer to return to Porto one of the top 2 teams in the country to revive a career surely should be taken by anyone with just a bit of pride.

Again not just a dig at Mangala, there are many more like him, luckily not that many with us.

Yeah fitness was the issue I read, nothing about wages.

Fitness seems a bit of a cop out as well considering by all accounts he has been in training and even played for the u23s this year.

Looks like Mangala will sit out the contract, pretty expected. He got many offers before but simply refused to leave. Don't know why he was given new deal.

Can't we just stop having a go against that lad and let him quietly improve fitness on our training pitch?

Simply not a Pep player. Had tough injuries.

Nobody forced Txiki to give him another contract year, right?
Maybe just a little gamble to get him back to proper fitness and then make a little money. Not much risk in that.
Not much about football, only financial aspects involved I suppose.
Not a big issue at all for City and no reason to put him in a bad light. Relax.

In the end he's reminding us how much better our transfer policy as become since Pep is on board.
