Isn't Wythenshawe full of the overspill from Miles Platting and Ancoats? I am not surprised they can't spell.
I don't know about Oome mate. I know lots of Ancoats ended up in Wythenshawe and Langley. Lots of my mums family ended up split between the 2, after all originating in Ancoats. My nana did not like Langley and moved back to Ancoats.A high percentage of the originals moved there from Hulme.
Or ‘Oome’ as they pronounced it.
