Manu Garcia

If that's the case, then we have some player on our hands. I never watched full games of our EDS 3 seasons ago so I wouldn't know how well Denis done but considering how well he's doing now,if Manu was/is better, Manu certainly has a big future at this club!
I've been watching Garcia for two years, he's a great little player, and don't forget he's only just turned 18
Suarez was neat and tidy but no where near the same technique or vision, plus if he was that great he'd be playing at a higher standard now

Crazy to think but I always liked Joan Angel Roman more for some reason.

Suarez is doing really well though. I watched him against Napoli and he was brilliant and much improved; apparently Napoli are in for him now as a result.

Manu does seem to have wonderful technique for such a young kid but I do feel he's around a year off from being a serious contender for a first-team slot. I just think Spanish players seem to get to the requried level around the ages of 21/22 and they seem to peak around their early 30's

I haven't said he's ready at all
In fact I'm one of the naysayers who reckons that most of the 'kids' are a year or two still from breaking into the first team.
You can see the level of difference between Kelechi and the rest. But given that this lad is only just 18 he has plenty of time on his side
In fact he, Humphreys and Tosin can still play in the FA youth cup I think

I tend to agree. However, I don't think Kelechi was heads and shoulders above the rest and, from what I've seen and read of the last year, he wasn't last season either. I think it's important to note the progression that occurs when young players play alongside top quality players; Kelechi is playing fantastically alongside them because playing with world-class players improves you as a player.

I think we should integrate our youth players alot more into first-team games; we could easily slot A. Garcia alongside Fernandinho in an 'easy' home fixture to give Yaya a rest. I don't think he's particularly 'ready' to become a first-team fixture, but it does his progression the world of good while not really sacrificing much of our quality. I think the game proved that the gap between our youth players and our 'experienced' players wasn't as wide as would be assumed and I think by intergrating them more throughout this season and the next, we'll have produced alot more confident young players, been able to rest and rotate our squad alot more efficently and would have highlighted the chances that youth players get in our set-up.

Same

I still think he'll end up playing deeper than Silva, but I can see why people make the comparison. (he's small, skillful and Spanish) Reminds me a lot more of Moutinho, but either way he's a cracking little player who really steps up when called up. You could see in preseason that he had the right mentality to not be fazed by the step up. It should be interesting seeing him next year

His play for our goal yesterday was unbelievable. Pass and move at the highest level, passing around international footballers for fun.

For a 18 year old kid to come into a game at Stamford Bridge and do what he did for our goal really is unbelievable. Guardiola is going to love him.

One of those players that makes it look so easy because he has a football brain to go with his skills.

Outstanding yesterday and the real stand out player.

I think unbelievable is totally the wrong word and defintely OTT unless you want a job with Jeff Stelling. Totally believable imo as that what good players do and that's what Garcia has been doing through all his time at City. The best news is that he stepped into the first team and was able to do it there. Not a suprise but good to see. Not really ready for the first team yet but all the skill and potential is there.

The thing about Manu Garcia imo, is that he probably has to start creating/scoring goals regularly at some point in order to merit a job at a club like City. We have arguments about whether players such as Nasri merit their place. Nasri was a real top talent as a kid & still is now. The question is always about his role in the team & whether he does enough to merit it, rather than his ability. It's unlikely Manu will become a ballwinner & he's small in stature so he has to become a creative mastermind or be a squad player to fill in.

That is the challenge for M Garcia imo. We can already see Diaz for instance, threatening to do all that kind of stuff. Garcia when he first arrived, showed a lot of tricky stuff around the penalty area, so it's in there.
