Manuel Akanji | Rumours of an Inter loan deal

Ederson and now Akanji going for peanuts would be weird. Turkey for their ways.

Hopefully he goes. And if he does I thank him for his service and wish him all the best.

For me his last season or 2 was a slide down in terms of using the ball well in midfield and in terms of making recovery runs. He just looked half assed too often. That imo isn't good enough for a team fighting for every single point.

He did ok in fact quite good but he was talked aboit far better than he actually was. A good buy and goes having not cost us much.

Right decision.

I never expected him to play as much as he did. Did well in his first season maybe over performed even but has dropped off a lot and don’t really trust him to perform at the level we need. Overall he has been great value for 15 mill and supposedly we’ve got a bid of 15 and looking for more. In my opinion recouping that 15 would’ve been great but anything else is a bonus.

I'd take £15m assuming he wants the move. Been a great servant and helped us win the lot in 2023. We've too many centre halves and Ake/Stones being HG probably tips the balance in their favour. Makes too much sense tbh so probably won't happen!

Doubt they are offering 15m. Doubt we would refuse it if they did.

I doubt they offered 15m. I doubt we want anywhere near 18m.
Exactly - Makes me laugh when we keep seeing things like the club wants between this and that and another club has offered this - negotiations are always very complex, fees, payment schedules, image rights, pay offs, Insurances, clauses - so there is no way that any of the news aggregators have accurate info. A lot of work on transfers will have gone on for weeks, it is quite rare that one happens within a day or two. This is all a merry dance that will be done with by deadline, especially negotiating with a Turkish club.

With Akanji I suspect the question - as with a few of our players this year - will be does only playing 20 games this year impact my position in the national team? And, at my age can I afford to be sat on the bench or worse still be a Phillips type and be happy sat on my arse taking a wage?

Absolutely no way do we say "no" to our money back of they've offered £15m. Unless we're just pissed off with them about Ed, then I guess we're just playing with them.

These Turkish clubs sound worse than Italian clubs to deal with.

Quality servant for absolutely brilliant price. Will smash it in Turkey if he goes and good luck to him.
Pound for pound one of the best signings we’ve made. He smashed that first season and for the price we paid, and considering he was pretty much an unknown, I couldn’t believe how good he was.

He spend most of last season carrying an injury but playing cause he was needed
