Manuel Akanji | Rumours of an Inter loan deal

Unless the players were told find a new club, they haven't done their part so Viana is doing it for them. Why Galatasaray is now involved

You can't send the player to Turkey if he doesn't fancy their league. Contact German, Italian or Spanish clubs, or other English clubs (Chelsea need a CB?)...

Maybe it might be wild to think this but we need players gone 3 i think. Maybe Viana is putting feelers out to see who wants our players. This just feels like that, that the club want him gone to free up room.

1) Ederson
2) Ortega
3) Nunes
4) Akanji
5) Dias
6) Khusanov
7) Gvardiol
8) Ait-Nouri
9) Gonzalez
10) Rodri

11) Kovacic
12) Gundogan
13) Bernardo
14) Reijnders
15) Cherki
16) Doku
17) Marmoush
18) Haaland

19) Savinho

The rest are HG or not requiring registration; Trafford, Bettinelli, Lewis, Stones, Ake, O'Reilly, Foden, Bobb.

So not 3. Looks like 1 goalkeeper and 1 more to be honest.
- If 2 goalkeepers go then Donnarumma takes 1 spot anyway.
- If Savinho goes, it sounds like Rodrygo is the plan.

The ones in bold are pretty much safe (although Nunes could become at risk if we do have a change of heart on right back).

If you look at what Romano has been saying, nothing has actually changed. He's been clear that the clubs have been talking and found an agreement, and now Galatasaray are going to try and agree a deal with Akanji.

Akanji commenting on Romano's post saying he's heard nothing about a transfer is bizarre, unless Romano has made it up completely - which let's be honest, is very unlikely.
My immediate thoughts are Galatasary may have contacted City about the prospect of signing Manu, & the clubs are close to an agreement, which when reached City will give them permission to officially approach the player.

This is how things are supposed to be done. However, when has this ever been the case? Clubs normally contact their agents to get in touch with the players agent to see if they're remotely interested.

Deals can be hammered out agent to agent on personal terms (personal terms shouldn't be a problem), & then the buying club approaches the players club to submit an opening bid or match the buy out clause.

It seems REALLY odd that Manu would respond so publicly this way if indeed there was something in it. It seems the players who've stated they're staying put for the season, are digging their heels in! Life's too cushty in the rainy City! Loool

City need to stop being all Democrat & get unhinged MAGA on them! ;-)

To be fair, he only said the clubs had agreed the deal - not that Akanji had agreed to going.

I bet the fee is sorted, just now persuading needed on the player side.

It never ever works like that.

I'd be surprised if he went there too, he's only 30, playing more than 40 games for City in the last 3 years. Turkey isn't as tax friendly as it used to be as well and his level is higher than that.

Akanji
Ederson
Lewis
Savinho

Bloody hell…we’ve been all over the place to end up where we started. So much misinformation this past week. Very confusing but it keeps us amused I guess.

People need to stop listening to Romano unless he's got the words "Here We Go!" in whatever he's posting.

He's a tap-in merchant who can only believed when the contracts are signed. I thought everyone knew this?

Not sure if it's misinformation or just couldn't get deals over the line/players changing their mind

So basically someone on Twitter is making things up. Most of the transfer rumours on there are wrong.

I saw someone saying savinho and Rico were definitely on their way as well, which turned out to be rubbish

It's not blind faith, though. Fans permanently pretending to know better than Pep is boring.
Boring and pathetic

Perhaps wrong wording, admittedly. Even so, pathetic is a bit strong and unnecessary.

More I don’t want him chosen above Khusanov and I felt the substitution at the weekend was a signal of intent from Pep to Akanji. But I don’t trust that if he’s here for the season that Khusanov would be the preferred option.

Time will tell.

I’d be shocked if we’re trying to agree a transfer of a player and that player or his agent don’t know anything about it

Whatever is best for the club. I think if Akanji stays, he will play some games at RB and may also help Stones staying fit. Because who is going to start at Liverpool or Camp Nou: neither Lewis, nor Nunes, Khusa has too little experience there as well.

If Pep and the club want Akanji to free a space, I'm game.

It's what clubs do if they want a player moved on. If the player won't seek a move, the club has every right to seek a move for them. The problem arises if the player says they're happy to remain & fight for their places. Fuck all the club can do about it!

If nothing else, this has added some comedic entertainment to the window. Lol

I wonder if it’s a proper old school transfer and they’ve agreed terms with the club before speaking to the player. Ah the good old days.
Yeah fab said the clubs have talked but not with the player
