I am just absolutely delighted with Manuel Pellegrini.
Let me say that I was a HUGE fan of Bobby Manc. I spent the last 10 days or so of last season in a fog, sensing that we had lost our way and feeling that he would surely get the sack (especially after the Wigan FA Cup loss). I have deep respect for that man, the intensity he brought, his willingness to be the ONE MANAGER who had the balls to stand up to that Scottish pisscan at Trafford and his love for the game of football. I'll also be eternally grateful to him for the heights he led us all to.
During the summer, as I got used to life with City AM (After Mancini), I turned my attention to Pellers and what he might bring to us. I was instantly relieved to find the man classy and well-spoken. I began to hope that he would be a good long-term replacement for Bobby and not just a short time fix until someone else could be found. The question was: could he deliver results?
Boy, did he ever deliver! A DOUBLE.
Here's another thing that relates directly to MP: I can't wait for August. As several on this thread have said recently, I feel that he did a decent amount of "learning on the job" this season and I see this as a very positive thing. Do you really think we will stumble out of the gate next year the way we did this past August? I don't. I think Manuel will have it sorted and those "extra points" could make a huge difference for us. We'd have won the league at a canter if we hadn't been so sluggish out of the blocks. Next season, I don't see this squad dropping points as much out of the gate and that should only help our cause.
Finally, I must also say as many have, that the man oozes class. Always bright eyed with that smile. Always calm. ALWAYS asking that his side play FLOWING, ATTACKING, BEAUTIFUL FOOTBALL. These are all things I am getting used to enjoying. Long may it be so.
I am fine with this man having the reins of this GREAT club.
