Manuel Pellegrini

Pellgrini did nothing wrong . He was only telling the truth when he said Chelsea played like a small team. A club with so much resources and so many top players should be taking the initiative on the pitch instead be defending deep in their own half like cowards.. this taliban style of football is for small teams who don't have the resources to play attacking football.

Ultimately chelssea can do what they want .. but Pellegrini can also say what he wants.

The sub I thought was bizarre yesterday was the introduction of Lampard. And look how that turned out...

I know what you mean although part of me did think "he'll get one chance".

Odd that when we went down to ten men Chelsea still dropped everyone behind the ball as if we had a man extra. Last season they kept clean sheets away at us, Arse and Liverpool so they obviously know how to defend. Problem is that once they get into that mindset they don't know how to break out of it. Did Fabregas actually cross the half way line, did any of their midfield run beyond Costa at all? Chelsea may well win the title but it isn't pretty football which given the players they have I can't imagine Roman will be happy about.

I also thought "what the hell is he putting Milner at left back for" when he made that sub.

Cue Milner cutting back to Lampard.

Big, big goal potentially that one. Could be the platform for the title. There was something reminiscant of the United FA Cup game when we battled back to 3-2. Psychologically it was enormous, and I reckon this one could be.

I felt the very same thing yesterday. In the context of the season this could be the springboard. We have had a difficult start to the season and apart from the Stoke game things are starting to take shape. We have the look of champions to me. With 2 away games in the EPL coming up and a VITAL game against Roma the time to judge where we are heading this year will be after the Villa game

Totally agree with you and I wonder how Pellegrini's comments might go down with Abramovich. Surely Roman wont be happy with his team playing such negative football. Well done Pellers for highlighting it.

As Lampard came on we said; 'watch him score now'!! And then all of us had the open mouth, oh my goodness where did that come from, expression what it happened.

As I said yesterday, before the match, in Mr Pellegrini I trust.

As for Maureen, well if he can't even have the courtesy after all this time to pronounce Mr Pellegrini's name right then what sort of a person does that prove him to be. And his lack of graciousness about Frank Lampard says it all really.

I thought after City failed to score after a strong opening that Chelsea would come into it, but like you say the mindset was so ingrained that they could not alter their approach.

Poor management from Mourinho in his last 2 games, and 1-0 to Pellegrini in the mind-games. It needed saying and the point he made will have struck home.

I was critical of Pellegrini's use of subs last season but he certainly got it right yesterday.

Although I do have a pet grievance about sending defenders on when we have a corner. Surprising how often they immediately get caught out of position.
