By found out do you mean we wont win the league title if we dont get a LB, specifically this LB? Seriously? Its all down to that?
No I mean found out like we did in the CL semi last season when fernandinho (our 37 year old defensive midfielder) had to fit in at full back against one of the best wingers in the world - and did terribly.

The same will happen this year also - injuries are part of the game and when we are going for all four trophies again and have a game every 3/4 days for weeks on end, it catches up with you.

I agree but that doesn’t mean we need to buy a LB by Sunday (start of the season). It simply means that we need to get someone in by the end of August.

We will give you 30
No we want 50
No go on take 30
No we want 50
How about 30 then?
Fuck off its 50

If that takes 12 weeks then we best hurry up.

Txiki - I start the bidding at one English pound

Hello? Hello? Fucking Vodaphone. I'll ring them back next week.

Because from the club point of view they are not that desperate looking for LB like some fans speculate in here, there's player that will look have some minute as LB like Ake, Laporte, maybe Philips? and lastly our young player Josh Wilson Esbrand can share those responsibility. We are not dire yet at this point of season.

A club of City's stature in this day n age & you're suggesting we play Philips at left back? Fucking hell.

Ake & Laporte the central defenders? This is the third summer in a row in which we have needed to buy an out and out left back. It's inexcusable if the board fuck this one up imo.

The LB situation needed addressing for a long, long time, it's a major weakness in the major games, let's not kid ourselves.
As things stand City decided to quickly solve the central positions with Haaland, Phillips and yes Ortega,
but - even though we had many half solutions on LB over the years - didn't sign Cucurella although financially easily affordable.

Maybe the club and Pep don't rate LB as highly as most on here
and believe they will always find solutions within a strong squad?

The point I was making did the club expect the deal with Cucuralla to happen? It appears they did, even to the point of the player himself asking for a move, maybe we expected Brighton to fold?
I'm sure Txiki had been given an indication of what it would likely cost to land him
(From where, I don't know) and, encouragement from the player himself and is why we entered negotiations.

Had he known from the outset that he was not affordable, then I think he would have steered clear and looked elsewhere.

City making him hand in a transfer request helped Chelsea get a smooth deal.
