Brighton have always said they want more than they got for white As they think he is a better player and covers 3 positions for them. I don’t see the issue here at all.

Brighton have come out of this well as cucurella gets his move and bloom got his figure.
Has he got his figure or is this something you've read on social media ?

I don’t think he’ll have too much trouble in the future, there’s not many Brighton players we’ve ever been interested in and Players/ Agents will still be attracted to signing for them due to Premier League wages.

As you say, glad we’ve pulled the deal, we have a structure and stick to it.

Not sure I agree with you mate.

Their pitch to promising, young, talented players and their agents is ‘come to Brighton, play every week in the PL, showcase your talent and if you get the opportunity for a move to a bigger club, we won’t stand in your way’.

There are plenty of recent quotes to exactly that effect from people at Brighton - David Weir being the most recent.

What they’re showing with Cucurella is that they blocked a move to his first choice (the Champions) even after a transfer request with a valuation the player and agent feel was unreasonable. They paid £15m for him, and apparently we were offering £40m - that’s almost triple their money in a year.

The agent then found an alternative move to another CL club, and they’re blocking that at the moment with an even more unreasonable set of demands.

If you don’t think ambitious players and agents will be watching this very closely, and simply won’t trust what Brighton are telling them in future - I think you’re being naive.

Why go there when you can go to Southampton or one of the other clubs with a similar model, and actually get your move when you want it?

Planet Clever and Shrewd, Tony Bloom is a smart operator, he’ll max his options to the hilt, can’t blame him. They sold Bissouma for a large fee, that was enough, he’s under no pressure to sell Cucurella but if he does he’s getting the best possible deal for his Club.
Since he looks like he's deliberately pricing everyone out of any deals is is not planet idiot?

I’m sure it’s called digging their own grave

It’s what Andy naylor has consistently said, he gets his info straight from Brighton. Always been the same messaging from Brighton’s side we just thought they where bluffing

The weirdest thing here is that BHA got Cucurella for £15m. How can we not spot players like that! The mark up on him is ridiculous. One half decent season for a mid table premier league club and its £50m+ talk about prem tax!
We got Zin for 1.7m, Alvarez for 15m and we bought Gundo, Torres and Bernardo for the price of Pogba;
Bluemoon just ignores that information.

But has he got his figure? I haven't seen it as a done deal yet

He’s under contract, it won’t worry them if he stays another year until a replacement is found, he’ll still be worth a big fee this time next year unless his form falls through the roof.
