Where did the info come that he’s been spotted in Barca?
Here is is mate. Few pages back
Ok, don’t shoot the messenger but Cucurella has been in Barcelona this week.

A City supporting mate (and member of a Barcelona OSC) bumped into him and asked about City. He basically said it’s done.

Not sure why he was out there, maybe Dr Cugat?… anyway, by all accounts sounds like we’re close.

Pic as proof aswell.

very interesting - surely he's not still on holiday? - there's got to be legs in this!?

It is the model (some of our lot still don't understand that hence the wailing on Twitter), but here it's simply the number that's the issue - your valuation doesn't meet ours. What we gain is keeping our clear (players and fans) POTS (probably for one more season max), in a position where we haven't had anything this good and where we won't get an equivalent replacement, and certainly not for £10m - if we're to progress, the numbers in our 'model' will continue increase and we're starting to see this now. Think the club see it as much more sensible, I suspect, to flip him for the same or more profit after two seasons rather than one.
I do get that and agree it sounds like a dispute over value not wanting to hold onto him at all costs as some are making out.

Not sure you can say you cant replace him for £10m when he only cost £16m originally. Not saying theyre everywhere but when a whole scouting department is focused on growth potential and players looking for opportunities in the prem to prove themselves, there will be plenty of replacement options. Some will be better, most not, but all able to replace 90% of what cucurella did. Sometimes wish we did more of this but seems our board have decided its ready and proven players only with academy providing the growth upside.

If this doesnt go through, we’ll never truly know what was offered and what was rejected and we’ll never know the real impacts. But my opinion is that it will create some resentment in the player (which he may get over quickly). And will also make the next cucurella think twice signing for brighton if performing well is not rewarded with a move up the chain.
