I back City to win the League and a domestic cup with Cancelo and JWE as Lbs, that's down to Peps brilliance. If they don't sign Cucurella I'm more than content. But no natural lb at the club for five seasons is not great from our directors.
Mmmm. Won 4 titles & still we criticise. Our directors will only buy a player if he fits ALL the required criteria. We don’t buy just for the sake of it unless we have a crisis. 4 titles doesn’t suggest that especially when we do have adequate cover.

Sure, we want a LB but only the one we actually want!!

As others have mentioned, it's not a question of did we overpay?
Was, or is Grealish worth £100 Million? Quite evidently he is not, which begs the question why are City not applying the same logic to the Cucurella deal.
Quite evidently to who exactly? I couldn't give a monkeys what we pay for a player as I'll leave that to the beancounters at the club (and on here ;) )

Ok, don’t shoot the messenger but Cucurella has been in Barcelona this week.

A City supporting mate (and member of a Barcelona OSC) bumped into him and asked about City. He basically said it’s done.

Not sure why he was out there, maybe Dr Cugat?… anyway, by all accounts sounds like we’re close.

Pic as proof aswell.

With Txixi and Co being based between Manchester and Barcelona could be they brought him for talks in Barcelona just as that's where they were at the time?

Pep and city know how hard it is to keep winning and everybody catches up a little every season
the left back been a major problem with pep and city, even when we signed Mendy only to see him pick a major injury right from the start, it was a testing time and pep worked his magic, and we still won the titles and cups

BUT it's the bigger games in Champions League that kills us when we need to use a cover player at left back
the better teams will hurt you with our weakness, they will work on a right footed player on the left knowing he's got to cut back, playing under pressure in the big games you need all your big players playing in their roles and not using a cover player,

simple answer is marc-cucurella is a left back that fits the bill and would be a first team player at left back
but then again so did Mendy you just never know ? Football and being a manager tests you to the limits

It is pointless looking at the price paid for individual players. It would be like owning a coffee shop and fixating on the price you paid for your grinder even though everything else you bought was under budget and customers are flowing through the door giving you a very tidy profit.

When you have bought three players of the quality of Grealish, Alvarez and Haaland for £166m, the price of the individuals are of no concern, unless you have bought them specifically to sell, which we haven't.

I was very much in the camp of we didn't need grealish and paid way too much money for him but I'm starting to change my opinion, think this season he will be class but he seems to be the soul of the dressing room everyone loves him and he is brings the players out of the shells and more together and you genuinely can't put a price on that
