Marc Cucurella

There's little chance Chelsea go in for him without assurances from the player given how they've been shown up by transfers to date this window.

I doubt he's 'City or nothing'

I've a feeling Pep won't sign a left back now.
He's contrary like that at times.

So we've strengthened Arsenal with Zinchenko and Jesus and now Chelsea with Sterling and Cucurella this summer
You do realize Arsenal/Chelsea would have gone for other players if not the ones above. There are quite a few in that bracket. We also got in Haaland, Phillips and Alvarez. We dont own Cucurella, so we have nothing to do with Chelsea buying them. We can't be buying players to stop others from strengthening. We will pay the amount we are comfortable with or else everyone will be asking 100 million from us.

Zinchenko isn't just a LB though. You're selling a quality international midfield player that can also cover at LB.
So don’t sell him. He’d have got game time next season surely? On paper we valued our back up left back at 35 whilst brightons player of the year, aged great at 24 who has a very long contract in place, at 30m. We’ve got some great value in sales, just think an all or nothing 30m bid for your only left back target is a bit odd, no matter how good previous business has been

Seen lots of comments re Zinchenko…. Just wanted to say maybe the club knew he wanted to move, Arse agreed a fee, he agreed terms and we just concluded that he was a good guy, a loyal servant and deserved to be treated with dignity and respect - and we swiftly granted him his move. Holding him hostage while we signed a replacement would have been pointless and maybe something the club rightly chose not to do. Maybe contrast that behaviour with the actions of the media heralded Spiv Mr Bloom and the way he’s treated his player. We will get no credit but I think City have behaved entirely appropriately with a player who had been exemplary in his conduct whilst with us and who has had a fucking hard time of it recently… (with the war etc..). sometimes you have to do the right thing and on this occasion I’m proud to say we did.

As proven here it’s all down to the seller. They value their asset and sell at what they want. If someone isn’t prepared to pay it usually the next person will
While that may be true, it's still not great to pay considerably more for a player than you value him at.

Say (for example) we value Cucurella at 35M and Sosa at 30M. If we can get Cucurella for about the valuation we have on him, we try to sign him. If not, we see Sosa as the better option.

If you don't think the car is worth what the dealer is selling for you either try and get it cheaper or you move on and let someone else pay up.

I though I had read that we had made a bid of up to 40M?
